Alhamdulillah, we are most grateful to Allah S.W.T for the completion of this Business
Opportunity as one of the requirements that need to be accomplished in the course work
assessment for the code ENT 300.

This business plan has been prepared with the cooperation and support of many people.
Besides, not to be forgotten to both our lecturers which are Madam Nurul Farhana Mazlan
and our second lecturer Sir Mohd Basir Suleiman for their kindness in helping us during the
process of completion of this project work. They have given us a good service by providing
useful information to us. Without them, we would not be able to complete this business
opportunity.

Lastly, to those who had involved and contributed directly or indirectly to this business
opportunity, we are very grateful to them for the effort and initiative that they have shown in
our project until we successfully completed our business plan.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This business opportunity report contains three different types of business which is
Automotive Industry, Apparel Retailer, and IT Industry. We also include the introduction,
swot analysis, and finding and discussion for each type business to make this business
opportunity clearer and easy to understand.

The Automotive Industry was about reconditioning import auto parts service, while the
Apparel Industry is a bundle clothing retailer and lastly IT Industry is for computer repair
services.

INTRODUCTION

1.1 Background of the study

RECONDITIONING IMPORT AUTO PARTS SERVICE

The automotive industry is one of the largest manufacturing sector in the world. It’s a
global industry with giant auto makers from United States, Europe, Japan and Korea.
As for Malaysia we have our own auto makers, Proton and Perodua. The local auto
makers have been using parts designs from other auto maker giants such as Proton
using parts from Mitsubishi and Perodua from Daihatsu. Installing imported auto
parts from its original manufacturer have been flourishing through the years in
Malaysia but finding a new condition parts have become harder and the cost of it can
be exorbitant. Many has resorted to buying repaired or reconditioned parts to
overcome this problem. The market share for reconditioned imported auto parts in
Malaysia are currently being shared by small companies.

BUNDLE CLOTHING RETAILER

Bundle product is widely known for their low price. Many businesses such as thrift
shop or used product shop are already established in the worldwide. So, this bundle
clothing retailer business is a type of business that allows people to buy their most
important thing in their life that are clothes. This business will sell many types of shirt,
pants, hat, shoes and many more. Only by visiting to this shop, people can get their
clothes that they usually need to go to many shop in order to obtain them. This
business also included online shopping. So, people can buy their cloth by opening
this business website.

COMPUTER REPAIR SERVICES

Mostly every house has at least a computer or laptop. The usage of computer this
day increasing. It is being use to do report, proposal, searching information,
assignment and many more. These make the market for computer repair shop
increasing in size. The computer repair shop that we want to organize not like the
usual repair shop. To make a win in this industry, we make a creative idea to attract
the customer. We make a door to door service.

1.2 Purpose of the Study

RECONDITIONING IMPORT AUTO PARTS SERVICE

To establish a company that is well known and trusted import auto parts
reconditioner and to hold most of the market share of importing and reconditioning
auto part because of technological advances in the automotive industry is becoming
more apparent thus making old car’s parts harder to find in new condition.

BUNDLE CLOTHING RETAILER

In Bundle Clothing Retail business, we are introducing a new shop in Bandar Sri
Alam area. Statistically showed that bundle store is the most popular store for
Malaysians, especially for teenagers that tend to buy thrift product because of its
price. Half of all bundle shoppers in the country are visited by student. Thrift store are
popular for a reason a variety of reasons, for example their unique and variety
product. Original famous brand cloth also can be bought with only half or lower price
when compare to new original product. This business allows people to buy cloth that
have good brand with affordable price.

COMPUTER REPAIR SERVICES

We know that the people who owned a computer mostly have their career and have
limited free time. With door to door service, the customer does not need to search
our place and come to our shop. It will make their task easier. We also make a class
tutorial to learn Microsoft excel, adobe illustrator or Photoshop. The people who
attend our class will received a certificate that proved they are excellent in using a
specific software.

With the money that we gathered among us, we are hoping and wishing this
business will get and outstanding demand from customer. Our vision is to make this
company bigger and open another franchise.

FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION

From the swot analysis that we study for the reconditioning import auto parts service,
we find that the strength of this business is having pricing leverage due to little regulations of
recondition parts pricing where we could decide the price by our own as the parts that we get
were a broken imported one and also, we repaired it back to make the broken parts being
useful again to the customer. It is also going to be successful because the imports parts
were from a branded company which is Daihatsu and Mitsubishi that has a high reputation
among the world. This was an innovative culture for us young men as we using our
knowledge as a mechanical engineering student to make a business. We also find out about
our business weakness where we got weak preference in emerging markets because of
finest technologies nowadays make less demand on old car’s parts. It is also hard to find an
expertise as the employees needs to be very informative about automobiles and its auto
parts. We also have delicate supply chain and low capital to keep our business going. As for
opportunity, we can get a huge share of the market because not too many people exposed
this job scope. We also will get to educate customers about the benefits of reconditioned
imported parts and also introducing car culture to newer generations. Our low/competitively
price offerings is our best opportunity to attract the customers. Threats that we have to face
is the technological issues as cars become more complicated to repair. The uncertainty
economy also could be our biggest threat as its play important role in managing money for a
person. Lastly the most popular threat for a business is the intense competition with other
companies.

Based on the swot analysis, we can observe that this computer service business has
its own unique strength. The strength that give opportunities for this business has become
demanded to the general public. There is no company or officer that does not use computer.
The location of service store is near to several academic institute. There are many students
here that need to maintain their computer. One of the institute is engineering campus. They
need to learn several software and we can provide them. Although there are some treats
upon this business, we can try to overcome it because there is no win before fight. The
problem that we need to overcome is new competition in the market such as a new way of
services or advance technology. When there is new technology, the information or our
knowledge also must be improved. More way of solving computer problem need to learn to
make the company survive.

Everyone is aware that these stores sell used clothes and the product is inexpensive
which is a big advantage. The bad about our competition is that they sell more than clothes
and also more than business clothes. People who have limited time may like our store
because we specialize. The marketing strategy is product differentiation, accessibility, and
in-house marketing to target college students who need business clothes for interviews and
for their first few weeks on the job, they have limited resources, and limited time. Online thrift
shop is so few. So, this business can go further compare to those thrift shop that does not
provide online shopping.

CONCLUSION

After we had done the analysis for the three types of business, we have decided that
we want to proceed one of this business opportunity into business plan on automotive
industry which is the reconditioning import auto parts services. We choose this business
after the discussion between us and swot analysis that we had done. We find that this
reconditioning import auto parts services is the most viable among the three businesses that
we had study. The innovative culture and the pricing leverage due to little regulations of
recondition parts in the strength in the swot analysis really help us to choose this business.
We also really want to educate and tell customers about the benefits of reconditioned
imported parts and introduce car culture to the newer generations as it is in the opportunity
of this business.

Even though it has weaknesses and threats such as weak preference in emerging
markets, have delicate supply chain and low capital to keep our business going,
technological issues as cars become more complicated, and the uncertainty economy, it
does not going to make us give up on this business. We will take it as our challenges to
make us a better businessman.

So, the conclusion is that we all unanimously choose the reconditioning import auto
parts as our business for the business plan project.

RECOMMENDATION AND IMPROVEMENT

Many improvements can be made if there are chances. So, when dealing with
weakness such as employees need to be very informative about automobiles and its
auto parts when doing the auto parts services, employers can do training classes to
the uneducated employee about the components of the automobiles. Also, before
hiring the employee, include the requirement about minimum knowledge that need to
have before applying the job.

Weakness such as getting broken clothes or worn out clothes can be improved by
repair and recondition the clothes or making use of the broken clothes for other usage
such as making blanket or curtain and that product can also be sell.

When dealing with high early capital, many solutions already been provided by
financial company. Loans can be made if you have high confident in making business
that have high return profit. The banks will without a second thought will invest their
company’s capital to a successful business.
