Design of Plinth/ Tie Beam for Fencing work at Assam Rifle

Dead Load:
Density of concrete = 25 KN/m2
Density of Brick = 20 KN/m2
Dead Load/ self weight of beam 0.35 2.625 KN/m
0.3
Dead weight/ sef weight wt of MS frame = 3 KN/m
with barbed wire fencing

Dead wt of brickwall 1.0 m height only = 5 KN/m

Live load = 1 KN/m

Total Gravity Load = 11.6 KN/m

Factored Load = 17.4 KN/m

Factored Bending Moment = 17.856 KNM Wl2/10

Since the fencing work is along NH

so in order to avaid horizontal displacemnt and torsion in the beam with additional load condition such as
Vehicular movement along NH , an Extra surcharge for their wheel load has been taken.
The same beam will work as tie element to prevent differential settlement between footing and underlying soil
and to resist overturning moment during earthquake if any.
Keeping in view of the other load such as wind & lateral soil pressure, the work out moment has been
increased by twice to be on safer side.
Bending moment = 35.712 KNM

Mu/bd2 = 1.47 as per SP16

% Ast = 0.43 as per SP 16
Reinforcent Required= 451.5 mm2

Reinforcemnet provided in bottom of the beam
