How do Online Games Affect Teenagers
Online games are very popular among teenagers. Almost all teenage boys play
online games. There are parents don’t like their children playing games. Online
games have both negative and positive impact: Health issues, academic issues, better
cognitive function, and can make a good team.
The number one problem in playing online games is health issues. Specifically
for the eyes, the distance between the eyes and the screen of the gadget used to play
online games that are often too close can also increase the risk of asthenopia (tired
eyes), xerophthalmia (dry eyes), to refractive eye problems (for example,
nearsightedness). Moreover, this online game leads to addiction, causing the
teenagers to prioritize playing online games rather than other interests such as sleep.
Due to lack of sleep, causes other health problems namely migraines. Migraine is a
headache that feels throbbing, and usually occurs on only one side of the head.
Generally people who lack of sleep when awake will feel a migraine
The second problem for teenagers is academic issues. The teenagers after
playing games finally will be lazy to do their task. They will steal time from their
study schedule to play online games, if teenagers study schedule are not optimal and
they are lazy to do the task will also affect their tests. The teacher normally take the
questions mid term and final exam from the assignments the students have done.
On the other hand, the first positive impact of playing online games is can
make better cognitive functions. Teenagers practice to be more focused after that
they can focus on learning material on their school. Furthermore, they practice
solving the problems in online games and they will start trying to solve problems in
their teenage lives.
The second positive impact is can make a good team. In online games they
certainly make a team, in that team they will practice to be patience in sharing
opinions. Teenagers can also practice being a leader, they will learn how to make
their teams win in online games. They can make a great team in a group work at
school.
In brief, online games have a negative and positive impact however if teens
don't play too much they won't be addicted, don't affect health problems and
academic problem will be good for teens to hone the positive things that exist in
online games.
