Its election time, the time where the pupil body will choose and support the next leaders
of the school. Sunog Elementary School is a public elementary school in Sunog, Balamban, Cebu. It
aims to develop pupils into well-equipped leaders who can take their place responsibly in service of
the community. Supreme Pupil Government is a school organization whose purpose is to train the
pupils to become better citizens in the future and to develop pupils’ skills and abilities in achieving
quality education and academic excellence through cooperative works among themselves in achieving
their goals.
Last February 03 – 14, 2020, the activities for the SPG Election took place. A
total number of 30 pupils from Grade3-Grade 6 participated on the said event. There were two (2)
participating parties (KAPAYAPAAN and PANGKALIKASAN) and each had 1ten (10) officers
aiming to be in the position they desired. The screening for the Presidential and Vice-Presidential
Candidates was held last January 27-31, 2020 at Grade 5 – Service room. The screening involved
interrogation of the selected pupils from Grade 3, 4, and 5. Its mission is to test the determination
and will of the candidates’ in pursuing their goal of becoming a pupil leader of Sunog Elementary
School.
After the screening, the filing of the Certificates of Candidacy (COC) took place on February
03, 2020 (7:00am – 1:00pm). The candidates filed their COC according to their respective
party. During the last hour of the filing of COCs, the SPG Adviser, Mrs. Argie B. Dumdum, called
for a meeting. In this meeting the responsibility, requirements, activities and consequences of being
a SPG Officer were discussed. After meeting, the official list of candidates for SPG Election
of Officers A.Y. 2020-2021 was publicly announced to the students. They were introduced to the
students with brief information. The Campaign Period started at 2:00pm – 4:00pm. The candidates
were given only limited time to have their campaign. Each party independently planned their
campaign strategies and went room-to-room to introduce their selves and persuade the students to
support and vote them.
After their brief introductions, the presidents and vice-presidents of each party were given a
chance to present their platform of government which states goal, reason/s why they should win
and some of their future projects. Then the pupils were allowed to ask questions to the candidates
for president and vice-president. Right after the day of the Meeting de Avance, the synchronize
election took place. The voting process started at 1:00pm until 2:00pm, the ballots were placed
according to their year level. And for a smooth flow election, a line of two was made in order and
COMELEC Officials assisted the pupils. The election took about an hour to finish.
After class hour, the counting of votes started. The COMELEC officials together with some SPG
Officers were the ones who count the votes of the pupils. After about an hour, the counting of
votes was done and the result was out. At exactly 4:30pm, the result was then posted and winners
were proclaimed.
So far SPG election was successfully conducted where pupils are given the chance to
participate and exercise their right of suffrage during the election.

I am Mike Justine Saga, a president of Sunog Elementary School and the reason behind
writing this letter is to recommend my co - schoolmate pupil Whinjie Ej R. Pador for
the President of Sunog Elementary School, Sunog, Balamban, Cebu.
As a dedicated and smart pupil that he is, the work he has done in these years of
elementary speaks for itself. He excels in different activities and has made us in
President. He is also the consistent honor student.
I thoroughly believe Whinjie Ej. R. Pador is an idea candidate for this vacancy and all
of us at SUNOG, BALAMBAN, CEBU are proud to send one of our best pupils for it. In
