Install File Transfer (Reference Only)


If you are in Remote class then watch the demonstration movie for this objective.

Perform the following steps at the Experion Server.

If File Transfer is installed on your computer then skip this procedure.

 Step Action

ATTENTION

Perform this procedure only if the node you are


configuring is connected to LCN (EST or ESVT). For
non LCN connected nodes (ESC, ESF, ESV), skip all
steps in this procedure – go directly to the next
procedure in this lab (it will start with step 1).

ATTENTION

Did you read the important information above?!?

3 Login to the Experion Server with administrator privileges.

4 Insert the Experion Installation DVD.

5 In the AutoPlay dialog box, select Run Experion Media Browser.


Note: If the DVD does not AutoPlay, follow this procedure:

Procedure
1 Invoke Windows Explorer.
2 Execute:
E:\BROWSER\CDBROWSE.EXE.

6 In the Honeywell – Experion PKS Installer – R430 window, select Install/Migrate


Experion PKS to install optional software packages.

 Step Action

7 If UAC prompts, click Allow.

8 Click Next on Honeywell Software Installation Welcome screen.

9 Accept the License Agreement and click Next.

10 Select Optional Features and click Next.

11 Select Yes (there are TPS Components to install), enter the license information, and
click Next.

ATTENTION

Refer to your partition sheet for TPS Components


(Experion Optional Software) License No. and
Authorization No.

12 Select File Transfer in the ‘Feature and Options Selection’ window and click Next.

13 Enter the password (in class, use ac Pays 1) for LocalComServer and click Next.

14 Click Install

15 On completion, exit the installation screens and remove the Installation DVD.

16 Reboot the Experion Server.

17 Logon to the Server as a user with Domain administrative rights.

Import HM History Configuration into the Server

Perform the following steps at the Server.

 Step Action

Add assets A1, A2, A3, and H1 (corresponding to LCN Units) to the server EMDB and download
them to the RTDB.

ATTENTION

Perform this procedure only if the node you are


configuring is connected to LCN (EST or ESVT). For
non LCN connected nodes (ESC, ESF, ESV), skip all
the steps in this procedure – go directly to the next
procedure in this lab (it will start with step 1).

2 At the PRIMARY Server, logon as a user with administrative Privileges

TIP

In class, your server is not redundant. However, if it were, you


should perform this lab at the primary server.

3 Open Configuration Studio and connect to your system.

4 Open the Enterprise Model Builder by selecting the System, then selecting Configure
Assets for this system.

5 Add parent assets A1, A2, A3, and H1 (if they don't already exist).

TIP

Asset A1 should already exist on your system.


Remember that the item name for asset A1 is A1_Item.

6 Download the new assets to the real-time database.

7 Close Enterprise Model Builder and Configuration Studio.

 Step Action

Configure File Transfer.

8 On your server, create the following directory (if it doesn’t already exist):
C:\ProgramData\Honeywell\Backup.

ATTENTION

This directory is required for the installation of the TPN


Backup-Restore component of File Transfer.

9 Open the Configuration Utility and select Configure > File Transfer.

TIP

The Configuration Utility is under the System Management menu.

10 Configure File Transfer to use HM 16. In class, leave the rest of the configuration with
the default entries.
Import HM History configuration from the HM.

11 Use the TPN History Import Tool to get history.

TIP

In class, it will take about 1 minute to complete.*


The TPN History Import Tool is under the TPS Applications menu.

* If you don’t see any units appear in the TPN Units/History Groups
column within a few seconds, start the application again.
* If the application takes more than a few minutes, end the task and
start again.

Use .CSV files to change FIC4241.PV and FIC4241.SP to Fast History.

12 Create the following directory if it does not already exist:


C:\Users\Student.STUDENT#

13 Use the TPN History Import Tool to Save the configuration to a .CSV file.
Save to: C:\Users\ Student.Student#\Payson.csv

 Step Action

14 Use Notepad to edit the .csv file.


Change FIC4241.PV and FIC4241.SP points to use Fast History with a 5 second
collection rate and save the file.

TIP

If you don't remember how, refer the reference


document, or the class lecture material.

15 Use the TPN History Import Tool to Read the .CSV file.
Note: Read the file you just edited.

Export HM History configuration to the RTDB.

16 Export the configuration to the RTDB.

TIP

In class, your server is not redundant. However, when a server


is redundant, this must be done on the primary server.
If you get “Export Warnings”, click Yes to continue.

17 Close the TPN History Configuration Import tool.

Verify that History Assignments have been made.

18 In Station, select Configure > History > History Assignment.

19 Verify that the following parameters are in standard history with a 60 second collection
rate:
FIC3841.PV
FIC3841.SP

Verify that the following parameters are in fast history with a 5 second collection rate:
FIC4241.PV
FIC4241.SP
