I.

Objective

At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:

-Explain how the revolutionary movement against the Spaniards started


and identify the proponents of these movements.
-Perform the actual events that takes place in each movement in a role
play.
-Appreciate the bravery of our national heroes who fought for our
country’s independence.

III. Procedure

A. Preparatory

1.) Drill- Read the following flash cards shown that are related to
the topic.
2.) Review- choose the names of the national heroes you have
learned in 5th grade from the Map of Heroes shown in the board.

B. Lesson Proper
1.) Motivation- Take students on a time travel to the Spanish era where
oppression and exploitation of Filipinos were present under their rule.
-Ask students what they would feel if they were in the
shoes of our ancestors.
-Ask students what they would do to stop the unjust
control over Filipinos from colonizers who do not own our
land.
2.) Presentation -Assign two groups to accumulate the information
disseminated in the classroom’s walls of the people who lead the
Propaganda Movement and the Katipunan and how each
revolutionary movement started.
Group 1 (The Propaganda Movement)
Group 2 (The Katipunan)
3.) Teaching Proper- Presentation of the Groups’ acquired information
- Expand and Elaborate each presented information
4.) Exercises (From previous grouping)
(Easy) – Create a timeline of the events that started:
Group 1- The Katipunan, Group 2- The Propaganda Movement
(Moderate) – Identify the jumbled names of people
who dominated and people involved in each movement.
(Hard)- Perform a role play about:
Group 1- The Propaganda Movement, Group 2- The Katipunan
5.) Application- Answer the following questions orally:
*His works Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo caused rebellion

*Who found a secret revolutionary society after Rizal’s Death?
* Date of Bonifacio’s discovery of the KKK? ________________

IV. Evaluation:
Write an essay explaining why it is important to recognize what our ancestors
have done for our country. (Minimum of 5 sentences)
