What a pleasure it is to recommend Ashlyn Bergethon for consideration for hire by the Virginia Beach
City Public School System.

Pleasant, bright, kind, inquisitive and full of potential is the short list of words I’d use to describe this
straight A student. A confident presence, Ashlyn is always on task, ready to share and prepared to lead
group and class discussions. She inspires her peers with positive words and concise actions.

Outside her stellar work in school, Ashlyn babysits and is a server at Shorebreak Pizza and Taphouse.
Additionally, she’s a bible school leader at Spring Branch Community Church, choral performer with
Virginia International Tattoo and Cox HS chorus. Her leadership includes, but is not limited to, secretary
of the Cox HS chorus, editor-in-chief of the Cox HS yearbook, current vice president of the English
National Honor Society and treasurer of the Math Honor Society.

Even before starting her undergraduate studies, it is clear Ashlyn will excel in her pursuit to become an
educator. Her participation in VTfT and her all-around natural gift to inspire and lead others will ensure
her success. Because she’s organized, thoughtful, conscientious, respectful and forwarding thinking, I’m
more than confident not only in her bright future but the brightness she’ll bring to the future of others.
