It is with pleasure that | write this letter of recommendation for Christy Haley. | have had the
pleasure of working with Christy at the district level for six years now. She has been the English
Department Chair for Woodbridge High School for the past 10 years and has collaborated with our
Literacy Department as she leads her team. Christy has had many leadership positions the past few
yearsin Irvine Unified. She was named Irvine Unified’s High School Teacher of the Year in 2015.
She has also been Woodbridge High School’s WASC Mid-Cycle Site Coordinator in 2015, 2018, 2021.
She worked alongside her site administrators to plan, organize, and write their WASC self-study.
She has also been a WASCVisiting Committee member in 2013, 2017, and 2019. These duties
included observing classrooms,facilitating meetings, engaging in evaluative conversations, and
writing reports. Christy has also presented at several of our districtwide professional learning
workshopsfor Literacy teachers throughout IUSD. She was a Literacy mentor in 2016-2017 school
year and supported ELAteachers acrossIrvine Unified. She is currently in Irvine Unified’s
Administrative Intern program, where she attends meetings, engages in conversations relevant to
leadership, and observes administrators throughoutthe district.

Christy has an obvious passion for teaching and leadership. In my experience working with Christy,
she is a dedicated educator who is passionate about getting all students to learn at high levels. Her
classroom is inviting and student centered. Christy is constantly seeking out opportunities for
professional growth and best practices to support her work with teachers and students. She is
willing to take risks and encourages her teachers to try new strategies to meet the needs ofall their
students. Teachers are engaged, empowered, and motivated to learn with her by their side. She
truly has a gift to getting the best out of each teacher and is always there if they need support or
guidance. Christy has many wonderful leadership qualities and | look forward to seeing her make
an even greater impact as an administrator!
