Simply Social Narratives

THANK YOU for your interest in Simply Social

Narratives, a collection of evidence-based strategies to
support the social learning of children.

Simply Social Narratives is a line of social narratives designed to

convey social concepts in a clear, understandable way using a format
that appeals to a readership of children across ages, gender, and
ethnicity. Social narratives are an evidence-based practice for
students with social learning difficulties. Social concepts are
presented in simple, yet direct language accompanied by simple
visuals. The format of Simply Social Narratives lends itself to saving
ink while maintaining a thorough presentation of content.

The narratives are to be presented to children/students in a

proactive, teaching manner on a regular basis, just like other
academic content is taught. These short narratives are designed for
use in the classroom, in the home, or anywhere else where a learning
opportunity might present itself. Templates or open spaces are
included at the end of the narrative to allow the adult (and/or child)
to handwrite in additional helpful insights or scripts unique to the
child’s needs. Visual prompts are included at the end of some of the
narratives to be used as convenient teaching tools.
