Overview & Purpose Education Standards Addressed

Students will learn what addition is and how to add number together. Math
This is something they will use in everyday life, grocery shopping and even cooking. Students working with blocks to learn how to add simple
numbers together.

Lesson Details
Objectives Students will learn how to add two number together. Materials Needed
 Paper
 Pencil
 blocks
Information You will give students blocks and ask them to separate
in two different piles. Pile one has how many? Pile two
has how many? How many does both piles have all
together?
Verification Wall around and make sure all the students are doing Other Resources
the exercise correctly and check and make sure they
know what they are doing and not just copying their
neighbor.
Activity Pass out a work sheet for them to don on there own
with some simple addition problems and have them use
there blocks to help get the answers.

Summary Review the work sheets and make sure all the students Additional Notes
understand the concept of adding simple numbers.
