Lesson Plan in Mathematics for Grade 2

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the pupils are expected to:
 Identify the difference between greater than and less than
 Value the importance of buying enough food and things in life
 Draw the things that you wants and needs

The teacher will play a song entitled Number Gators (Greater Than, Less
Than Symbols Song). The students are able to sing.

B. Developmental Activities
1. Presentation
a. Setting of Standards
The teacher will give the set of standards in class. Work quietly, be
cooperative, maintain orderliness, and keep the working area clean.
2. Activity

The teacher will present a poem to the students. Entitled “


ALLIGATOR”

ALLIGATOR

All the Alligator are always hungry, and

numbers are his food.

He always eats the biggest number no


matter what his mood".

He opens up his big old mouth and points

out his snack.

And to the smaller number, he always

turns his pointy back.

3. Analysis
 What you have notice in poem?
 What is the shape of the mouth of the alligator when it's eating?

Activity
The teacher has a code called "Numberbhetical" the teacher will use the
numbers to form words. Each letter is associated with a number. The teacher
will do this so that the students will know more about their new lesson.

Activity

After the first activity the teacher prepared another set of activity entitled
"DORA WHERE'S THE BAGPACK"

ACTIVITY: WANTS VS. NEEDS

Draw the things that will fit to the category of wants and needs below and
answer the questions precisely.

3. How many things are in NEEDS CATEGORY?

4. All in all what are the greater and less matter in your life? Is it your WANTS or
NEEDS?

The student should be able to have an activity entitled The Hungry Alligator.

Instructions: students will identify whether it is greater than or less than by


pasting a cutted picture of an alligator face into the box in each number.
