Airport and Hangars
We’re here to perform the second cannon of CE which is “HONESTY” and the second
fundamental principle of CE “ENGINEERS SHALL PERFORM SERVICES ONLY IN AREAS
OF THEIR COMPETENCE”
DAY 1
Narrator: Due to recent earthquake the inspector notice that the runway has a
damage.
Inspector (Mark): (Suddenly go to office and report about the damage) Good
morning Sir.
Boss (Arwin): Good morning. What can I do for you?
Inspector (Mark): As I inspect the runway sir, I saw a massive damage. And I think it
is because of the earthquake that happened yesterday.
Boss (Arwin): It is okay to use the runway?
Inspector (Mark): No sir. The runway will not be able to use right now and it may
cause a delayed flight.
Boss (Arwin): *phone is ringing* oh wait! I have to take this call first.
Inspector (Mark): okay sir.
Narrator: Engr. Kevin headed to Engr. Villanueva to inform her about the report.
Engineer 1 (Kevin): Good morning Engr. Villanueva, I’m here to inform you about the
status of the runway.
Engineer 3 (Angelika): Yes?
Engineer 1 (Kevin): Boss Arwin had an emergency and he want you to do something
for this problem.
Engineer 3 (Angelika): Okay I’ll do it now.
Narrator: After Engr. Kevin left the office, Engr. Villanueva start to make a permit
letter to be sign by the boss for tomorrow so that she could start immediately.
DAY 2
Narrator: Engr. Villanueva bring the permit letter to the head office but
unfortunately the boss had an unexpected business trip so she talk to other
engineers to get some advice.
Engineer 3 (Angelika): Excuse me Engr. Ramos and Engr. De villa, can I ask some
help?
Engineer 4 (Stephanie): Oh sure! What is it?
Engineer 3 (Angelika): I already plan to start working on the damaged runway today,
but I need Engineer Arwin’s approval.
Engineer 4 (Stephanie): But, he’s not here.
Engineer 3 (Angelika): Yah. That’s my problem. What should I do?
Engineer 2 (Christine): ohh! That’s a big problem. The flight will be affected.
Narrator: Engr. De villa get the letter to Engr. Villanueva’s hand to sign it.
Narrator: Engineer Villanueva start to work on the damaged runway. While Engr.
Arwin recieve a call from the airport’s owner complaining why there’s a construction
out of a sudden on the runway.
DAY 3
Narrator: As Engr. Arwin arrived to the office after his business trip he called Engr.
Kevin to gather all the Engineers for a meeting.
Boss (Arwin): Engr. Kevin please gather all the engineers to the meeting room. Now!
Engineer 1 (Kevin): Okay sir.
Narrator: All Engineer are curious what is the meeting all about.
Engineer 2 (Christine): Shocks! I forgot to inform our boss about what I did to the
permit letter.
Engineer 4 (Stephanie): OMG! Engr. De villa you’ll gonna be dead!
Engineer 2 (Christine): hey stop it! Don’t make me nervous.
Engineer 4 (Stephanie): *Smile*
Boss (Arwin): *Enters the room wearing an angry face* Can you explain to me what
happen? You! Engr. Kevin! I told to you to update me about the runway right?
Engineer 1 (Kevin): Yes sir.
Boss (Arwin): Then why I received a call from the airport’s owner complaining about
the unanticipated construction?!
Engineer 1 (Kevin): I don’t know sir. Ask Engr. Villanueva.
Engineer 3 (Angelika): Sir, I made a permit letter to start the construction to be sign
by you but unfortunately you’re still on a business trip. So, I asked Engr. Ramos and
Engr. De villa for some help and Engr. De villa offers to sign it.
Boss (Arwin): Aren’t you all aware that I am the only one who should sign it unless I
gave someone an authority to do it!
*Silence*
Boss (Arwin): You! Engr. De villa what comes up to your mind para mag bida bida
ka?!
Engineer 2 (Christine): Sir, I didn’t mean to upset you for what I did. I just really
forgot to make a call to tell you about that letter. I’m sorry sir. It wont happen again.
Boss (Arwin): For now, I’ll forgive you. So, I hope this will be a lesson for all of you.
Narrator: When it comes to construction works, don’t do such things that is out of
your work. Engineers shall perform only in areas of their competence.
