I. Questions

Complete the space below using a different font color

1. Give a clear definition of electrical drafting

Electrical drafting is a detail planning, creating, testing, or supervising the
development and installation of electrical equipment, including lighting equipment,
power systems, power distribution, fire and life safety systems, electronic components,
and voice and data communications infrastructure.

2. What is the different between conductor and cables?

A conductor is a material that allows electrical current and heat energy to flow
through it easily. For example copper and aluminum while a Cable is one or more
conducting wires covered in plastic that run side by side or bundled, to transmit
electrical power or data between devices or locations.

3. Why are cables necessary in an installation

 To transmit data and or information between devices or within an electrical
device
 To connect electrical components like bulbs and switches
 It is also due to the fact cables are the best way to transmit electrical current
which helps to prevent against electrical shock for example insulated
conducting wire

II. Choose the appropriate the correct answer in the multiple-choice questions.
1. An electrical cable is made up of three parts which are:
a. Conduction, convection and radiation;

1
b. Conductor, insulator and outer sheath;
c. Heating, magnetic and chemical;
d. Conductor and insulators.

2. An appropriate wiring method for a domestic installation would be a:

a. Metal conduit installation;
b. Trunking and tray installation;
c. PVC cables;
d. PVC/SWA cables.
3. An overcurrent resulting from a fault of negligible impedance is one definition of:
a. Earthing;
b. Bonding;
c. Overload;
d. Short circuit.

4. The regulations should be respected in an electrical installation to:

a. ensure the protection of person, livestock and property;
b. verify the faulty wiring of control boxes;
c. ensure the realization of a good earthing;
d. guide in the electrical project management.

5. Name some of the factors that guide an electrician to choose a particular cable

over another?
a. Bandwidth, Short circuit, power line;
b. Material, vibration, cut-off frequency, corrosion;
c. Temperature of the site, load demand, corrosion, supply;
d. corrosion, mechanical damage, vibration and exposure to solar radiation

a. Cables, resistor, power supply and switch;
b. bulb, lamp, cable, battery;
c. Cable, control, power supply and switch;
d. Power supply, control, Cable and load.
7. the electrical installation project comprises three main steps namely:
a. Designing, installation and testing;
b. Verification, wiring and supplying;
c. Drawing, installation and control;
d. Chiseling, piping and wiring.
