< SOLUNSUGS _ Question from Bikies!

BIKies is a term from the words "BIKY" and “Kids”, composed of kids and teens executive committee
members of BIKY who love films. BIKies with 5 kids and 16 teens play a critical role in our festival.
The most representative roles are to screen films as a jury in 'Ready~ Action!' section which is BIKY's
competition section for films made by kids and youth in and out of Korea, to moderate GV sessions,
and to plan ‘Ready~ Action Awards Ceremony’ and other lots of various events.

These Bikies finished the preliminary round and made few questions for the ‘Ready~ Action!’
directors.

Q.1) Why did you decide to make a documentary film?

⚫ I decided to make this movie because I wanted to promote my community culture while

improving the quality of my directing.

Q.2) Is the story is based on a real story?

⚫ Yes ... this is a true story of our community when the drought comes. This is because in some

places there is no clean water supply.

Q.3) Why did you deal with the problem of water use?

⚫ In some places in our area we will often be drowned and worst of places where there is no supply

of clean water. As an alternative, villagers seek springs in the hills using “solunsugs”.
 Q.4) In the film the actors were all child-actors. Is there any reason for that? And how did you recruit
the actors?
⚫ All the actors in this movie are my schoolmates who live in a village with me. I chose them with

the help of my classroom teacher.

Q.5) What kind of sentence would it be if you could summarize the message you want to deliver
through the your film in one sentence?
⚫UNITY
I believe the value of unity shown in this movie inspires everyone to live in harmony.
