 Transitive Verbs – need a receiver; -answer the question “what”or
“who”after the verb.

 Intransitive Verbs – do not need a receiver.
e.g. Because of exhaustion, Henry slept immediately upon arriving home.
 Linking Verbs – is , are, was, were

Object Complement follows and modifies or refers to a direct object.
It can be a noun or adjective or any word acting as a noun or
adjective.
- S-LV-C
Subject Complement – is a phrase or clause that follows a linking verb
complements, or completes, the subject of the sentences by either
renaming it or describing it.

Direction: Label and identify the pattern of each sentence.
