Task 1: The Philippines during the Pre-Colonial period.
ACTIVATE Through the video, let them describe the kind of life the Filipinos had during the pre-colonial period.
Discuss the life of Filipinos had during the pre-colonial period.

Task 2: A Way of Life


Agreement of statement and justifying thoughts.
Use the process questions:
1. Based on the video, what are the differences between the way of life of Filipinos before and now?

2. Supposing you lived in the past, how would you feel if the present generation does not recognize
the gifts of the past? Draw a sad emoji if the statement does not recognize the gifts of the past;
and happy emoji if it recognizes them. (Activity Sheet No. 2)

APPLY, PRACTICE, FORMATIVE Task 3: Sounds of Language


ASSESSMENT Enhance pronunciation of few and critical vowel-consonant sounds, diphthongs, blends and glides.
Read the conversation between a grandfather from the province and his grandchild who has come
home for the first time from Hawaii.

Decide which of the underlined statements give information and write them in the treasure chest.
And those sentences that do not inform will be written inside the trash box. (Activity Sheet No. 3)
Task 4: The Origin of Proverbs. Discuss proverbs, their definition and origin. Connect how proverbs
can persuade. Discuss further here the purpose of informative and persuasive statements,
paragraph or essay.
Get your Bible. Locate 5 verses from the book of Proverbs that can motivate. To whom is each
proverb addressed? Write them inside this church. Choose the location where they can be easily
seen by the churchgoers. (Activity sheet No.4)

Study the Philippine map and compare it with this unlabeled map. Can you identify the places?
SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT,
Label at least 5 places in the map and write inside each, its notable proverb. (see rubric below)
