TECHNICAL JUSTIFICATION

Below are the explanation / justification of the changes of quantities from the As – Staked Plan
compared to As – Built Plan. Such changes are incorporated into the contract after the As – Built Plan is
approved.

Item 100(1) – Clearing and Grubbing

Additive of quantity from As - Staked Plan ; 1.664 ha. to As - Built Plan; 2.050 ha., with a
difference of 0.386 ha., due to the actual area computed which has been cleared to start the project’s
scope of work.

Item 102(2) – Surplus Common Excavation

Item deleted. The actual terrain of the ground is much lower than the original ground elevation so;
the roadway excavation is all used up on the embankment leaving no waste but rather a need for
additional item for embankment. (See attached back-up Computation)

Item 103(1)a – Structure Excavation

Additive of quantity from As-Staked Plan; 554.074 cu.m. to As - Built Plan; 554.366 cu.m., to
with a difference of 0.292 cu.m., due to actual volume computed during the excavation. Computation is
based on the actual terrain of the ground. (See attached back-up Computation)

Item 103(3) – Foundation Fill

Additive of quantity from As-Staked Plan; 19.299 cu.m. to As - Built Plan; 23.975 cu.m., with a
difference of 4.676 cu. m., this is based on the computation of quantities of needed fill using the
dimensions provided in the plans and specification. Computation shown in detailed. (See attached back-up
Computation)

Item 200 – Aggregate Subbase Course, t= 0.20 m

Deductive of quantity from As-Staked Plan; 7,700.020 cu.m. to As - Built Plan; 7,596.704 cu.m.,
with a difference of 103.320 cu. m., based on the actual field condition. The quantities are computed and
shown in detailed. (See attached back-up Computation).

Item 311(1)e1 – PCC Pavement (Unreinforced), t = 0.28m.

Deductive of quantity from As-Staked Plan; 18,243.875 sq.m. to As - Built Plan; 15,173.775 sq.m.,
with a difference of 3,070.10 sq.m., based on the actual field condition. The quantities are computed and
shown in detailed. (See attached back-up Computation).

Item 404(1)a – Reinforcing Steel

Additive of quantity from As-Staked Plan; 23,928.180 kg. to As - Built Plan; 34,464.020 kg., with
a difference of 10,535.840 kg.. The quantities are computed and shown in detailed using the actual
dimensions provided in the plan. (See attached back-up Computation).

Item 405(1)a3 – Structural Concrete

Additive of quantity from As-Staked Plan; 222.552 cu.m. to As - Built Plan; 312.992 cu.m., with a
difference of 90.440 cu.m.. The quantities are computed and shown in detailed using the actual
dimensions provided in the plan. (See attached back-up Computation).

Item 407(8) – Lean Concrete

Additive of quantity from As-Staked Plan; 15.762 cu.m. to As - Built Plan; 20.438 cu.m., with a
difference of 4.676 cu.m.. The quantities are computed and shown in detailed using the actual dimensions
provided in the plan. (See attached back-up Computation).

The As-Built amount remains the same as the itemized cost of revision. In view of the reasons
stated above, it is earnestly requested that the submitted As-Built Plan be recommended for approval by
the Regional Director.
