The next thing you will need to decide is how you are
going to time/record your progress.On the Static bike
this is really easy because it tells you the distance, time,
level and RPM(revolutions per minute).if you are going
to be using the Static Bike then I would recommend a
level 10 on a manual setting.keep the RPM between 70-
80.if this is too hard then just put it down a level until you
are comfortable.but still maintain the RPM between 70-

The Idea is not to go Crazy.like you would with sprinting,


but to keep a steady rhythm.remember you are going to

be doing it for 30 minutes so you need a pace that you will
be able to manage for the duration of the workout.

On the spin bike you will have to just time yourself on the

bike.some spin bikes do have computers on them that
will give you information about your distance and RPM but
in most the gyms I have been to they are just spin bikes
without computers.to make it more difficult on a spin bike
you usually have a knob you can twist that makes it
harder.this will be the same as adjusting the level on the

static bike.to make it harder turn it in the plus (+)
direction to make it easier turn it in the negative (-)
direction.(*IMPORTANT* on the spin bikes there is a
brake to slow yourself down.make sure you use it and
don’t just stop pedalling.as the spin wheel will keep your
legs moving and you could cause a serious injury to
yourself)

On the Normal bike you will have to just time yourself


either for 30 Minutes or for a distance 15km.you can get
speedometers for your bike which can give you more
information about your speed/distance but most of you
probably wont have them so don’t worry about it.

Q:How to sit on the seat?

A: I would recommend sitting upright on the bike(like in the


video) and not hunching over the handle bars. If you do
want to lean over the handlebars then just make sure you
keep your back straight with a good posture.

Q:When to adjust the seat?


A:Ok so the main thing that we want to achieve with this
technique is longer legs and to do this we need to adjust

the seat from time to time.

With the static bikes its really easy to keep track of what
seat height your on and how far to put it up.you can just

put it up one notch at a time.usually it will have numbers
on the seat post so you can make a note of what seat
height you have it on and stick with that until you are
ready to move up a notch.

With the Spin and normal bikes I would recommend using
a ruler or tape measure to record what height you
normally have the seat and then when you do adjust
it.record what length that is.

The notches on the static bike are roughly 1.5cm apart so
you can adjust your spin/normal bike by 1.5cm each time
to create the same effect.

Now everyone will adjust their seat at different times. But I


would say for most people you will be adjusting the bike
every 3-4 weeks.

The idea is that once you adjust your seat you don’t want
to adjust it back to its original height.you will know if you
have adjusted the bike too soon because cycling will feel
impossible.you want it to be difficult but not to the point
where you cannot even pedal.

Once you have adjusted the seat height then you want to
comfortably be able to cycle until you are ready to adjust it
again.

I will Remind you in the Future Workbooks to Adjust your


seat height.so don’t worry about forgetting to do it.but
as a bit of an overview here is what to expect for next few
Stages.
