Use of AVP -Operating Zone An operating zone should
pasteurized be established around the Apple Cider
Pasteurizer
- A brightly painted guard rail or warning
stripe should define the zone.
- Only the operator or other authorized
personnel should be allowed within the
operating zone
- No tools or other equipment should be
kept within the operating zone
- These equipment ratings must not be
exceeded at any time during startup or
operation of the unit
- Be certain that all necessary guards and
safety devices are installed and operating
properly
-ensure the estimated Pressure and
Temperature Ratings should be as per the
equipment manual.
- Utility sources, such as water, steam,
electric, air and hydraulic, should be
installed by trained and authorized
personnel only
- Water Make-up supplied at 20 psig (1.4
kg/cm2) minimum

- Chilled Water supplied at 34OF (1.10C)
and 45 psig (3 kg/cm2 )

OHAUS scale -Verify that the AC Adapter input voltage
matches the local AC power supply(AC
Adapter supplied- 12 VDC 0.84 A output
only).
-Do not drop loads on the platform.
-Do not place the scale upside down on
the platform.
-Disconnect the scale from the power
supply when cleaning.
-Operate the scale only under ambient
condensing conditions specified in these
instructions(Operating temperature: -10ºC
(14ºF) to 40ºC (104ºF) Relative humidity:
10% to 90% relative humidity, non-).
-Service should be performed only by
authorized personnel.
-Only use weights within the scale’s
capacity as specified in these instructions.
-Do not operate the scale in hostile
environments.
-Do not carry the scale by the pan or sub-
platform.
-Use the handholds on the side of the
scale housing when lifting.

Blast chiller and Make sure the power supply is turned off
freezer before making any electrical repairs. To
minimise shock and fire hazards, please do
not plug or unplug the unit with wet
hands. During maintenance and cleaning,

please unplug the unit where required.
Care must be taken when handling or
working on the unit as sharp edges may
cause personal injury, we recommend the
wearing of suitable PPE. Ensure the
correct moving and lifting procedures are
used when relocating a unit. Do NOT use
abrasive cleaning products, only those that
are recommended. Never scour any parts
of the refrigerator. Scouring pads or
chemicals may cause damage by
scratching or dulling polished surface
finishes. Failure to keep the condenser
clean may cause premature failure of the
motor/compressor which will NOT be
covered under warranty policy. Do NOT
touch the cold surfaces in the freezer
compartment. Particularly when hands are
damp or wet, skin may adhere to these
extremely cold surfaces and cause
frostbite. Please ensure the appropriate
use of safety aids or Personnel Protective
Equipment (PPE) are used for you own
safety
-ensure all staff who handle refrigerants
do so at a level of competence consistent
-Ensure all liquid substances are securely
stored to prevent leaks and spill

Impact Rating Reference Guide:

SEVERITY (S) Impact Level (IL) IMPACT ACTION AND TIMESCALE
Work should not be started or continued until the impact has been reduced. If it is not possible
1 2 3 4 5 6 IR1 = 25 to 36 = Intolerable INTOLERABLE
to reduced impact even with unlimited resources, work has to remain prohibited.
HIGH Work should not be started until the impact has been reduced. Considerable resources may
2 4 6 8 10 12 IR2 = 20 to 24 = High HIGH have to be allocated to reduce the impact. Where the impact involves work in progress, urgent
action should be taken.
Where the impact is associated with extremely harmful consequences, further assessment
LIKELIHOOD (L)

may be necessary to establish more precisely the likelihood of harm as a basis for determining
3 6 9 12 15 18 IR3 = 15 to 18 = Substantial SUBSTANTIAL
the need for improved control measures. A permit to work may have to be applied to achieve
MEDIUM this.
Efforts should be made to reduce the risk, but the cost of prevention should be carefully
4 8 12 16 20 24 IR4 = 12 = Moderate MODERATE measured and limited. Impact reduction measures should be implemented within a defined
time period.
No additional control required. Consideration may be given to a more cost-effective solution or
5 10 15 20 25 30 IR5 = 8 to 10 = Tolerable TOLERABLE improvement that imposes no additional cost burden. Monitoring is required to ensure that
LOW the controls are maintained.
6 12 18 24 30 36 IR6 = 1 to 6 = Trivial TRIVIAL No action is required and no documentary records needs to be kept.

Notes: S = Severity of impact. L = Likelihood of occurrence. IR = Impact Rating Score = S X L. IL = Impact Level - resultant IL then being either: High (Hi), Medium (Me) or Low (Lo).
