Filipino Millennial Culture

Culture: habits, traditions, attitudes, values; Millennials: The in the


group, modern technology-oriented, easy way of living, when put them
together you are called a millennial. Being a millennial makes you feel, you
are not behind. You know what’s going on, and well-informed always on the
go. Millennial Cultured individual will not just say yes or no. They want to
ask, investigate using the social media, the internet, the computer,
cellphone and other gadgets. Good! You’re in, but wait, I think you missed
something, the family eating together, and praying together and of course,
playing together because you play alone. Seldom exchanging opinion, giving
and accepting suggestions are not being practiced most of the time. You no
longer enjoy taguan, habulan and patintero, and playing with the groups
(except basketball). No more opening of mail boxes after a week or two of
waiting for the postman. It’s a good thing, with just a point of a finger,
communication is in, neighborhood or around the world. Fantastic! Hello and
Goodbye is just a minute, a second maybe. Wonderful no more bartering
with salesladies, goods are just being brought to your doorstep, looking for a
job online application, so easy. Really, a very easy life. Filipinos no longer
practice waiting time, the values of hard work and patience, the culture of
personal touch (seldom maybe). The story of Juan Tamad being done by lolo
and lola, going to church together, although there are still some, but the
young ones usually stay at home and communicate with gadgets. Millennials,
