Course This course is offered as a core course in the first trimester with three
Description credits. Organizations are all around, and they shape the businesses in many
ways. Business organizations create a drive for innovation rather than a
reliance on standard products and outmoded approaches to management
and organization design. This course will provide a general introduction to
management principles and a brief outline on the history and development
of management thought.

Components of CIA-I

Research based assignment 20 marks

● Assignment Description:
Students are required to review five research articles from indexed journals* and the assignment
should address the following components:
✔ Identification of Managerial roles (6 marks)
✔ Historical importance of theories and their linkage to current practices. (6 marks)
✔ Interpretation of management functions (6 marks)
✔ APA style of referencing (2 marks)
✔ Assignment submission should not exceed 1500 words
✔ Text should be in Times New Roman with 12 font size, Pdf format
✔ Assignment submission deadline is July 24th, 2020
*Indexed journals can be Springer, Emerald, Web of Science, Elsevier.

Students should develop a Plan for conducting an event like Blood donation camp, Housing loan mela,
Musical night by A R Rahman, Management fest, Job fair, Auto expo 2020, National games, Film fare
awards, AIDS awareness camp, Wedding planner, IPL 2020, USHUS 2020

✔ Students are expected to prepare and present the infographics (can be virtual) on any one of the
above events, by considering planning, organizing, staffing and other managerial actions
ethically.
✔ Each group have to submit a report about the event not exceeding 500 words,
