RUBRIC NO. ___
CYCLICAL WEB VISUAL ORGANIZER
OUPUT FOR FINAL PERIOD
COURSE: EEd 6 – TEACHING SCIENCE IN THE INTERMEDIATE GRADES
Guidelines:
A. Goal of creating the output
Student to design a cyclical web organizer about the formation of a star.
B. Role of the student in creating the output
A teacher in Astronomy.
C. Situation: Students to create a visual representation of the concepts related to the formation of a star.
How much time is allotted for the creation of the output: 15 days.
D. Specific Steps in creating the output: Students must focus on the key concepts following the sequence of star
formation utilizing the cyclical web format.
1. Identify the main events in star formation, how they interact, and how the formation of a star repeats.
2. Formulate as many questions about the formation of a star. Use HOTS types of questions.
3. Answer the HOTS questions and write about the major components of the solar system formation in 3-5
sentences.
4. Draw the cyclical web visual organizer in ¼ illustration board; a copy is shown below. The circles could be
edited and reformatted as deemed fit by the students. The information therein must show relationships
between the ideas presented.
5. Choose the most relevant 3-5 sentences (from the answers to HOTS questions) and paste these on the
prepared cyclical web template, in sequence relative to the formation of the solar system.

E. Standard for success: Rubric will be used as basis for performance; a copy is shown below.
