DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

 Establish and implement Project Quality Plan (PQP), Inspection Test Plans (ITP), Welding
Procedure Specifications(WPS)
 Organize the stage inspections like Material Receiving Inspection, Fit-up, Weld Visual, Painting,
Pressure Testing as per scope mentioned in ITP.
 Ensure that activities are executed in accordance with the Project Specifications and inspected in
accordance with the approved ITP.
 Handling materials like CS, LTCS, SS, and ALLOY.
 Coordinate with Subcontractor for Non Destructive Testing, Preheating, Post heating, PWHT
activities etc.,
 Inspection on material like PMI, Hardness, thickness measurement by Ultrasonic thickness gauge
 Coordinate with Client/Third Party Inspection for stage wise inspection as per the scope mentioned
in ITP.
 Monitor the Welders Performance; maintain the log of Welding Repair Rate and taking necessary
action to reduce the repair rate.
 Verifying piping material identity (pipe, valves and fittings) and its conformance to the installation
drawings
 Verifying that welding inspection has been performed and joints have been released.
 Verification that dimensions and alignment tolerances of the piping systems are as per constructs
specifications.
 In-process surveillance to verify compliance with specified piping erection procedure including
flange alignments, torqueing, cleanliness etc.
 Performing piping walk down inspection and completing punch list. Verifying punch list system
dealt with in accordance with the contractual arrangements.
 Reviewing and verifying completeness of piping test packages ( hydro or pneumatic) prior to testing
 Witnessing final piping tests
 Completing and endorsing all inspection records from initial inspection till final inspection of piping
system.
 Coordinate QC monthly meeting and review the Quality performance of the team.
 Periodically execute the Quality awareness session with welders and all other craftsman for quality
improvement.
 Compile and reconcile all inspection report and prepare of Quality Control Dossiers upon
completion of all the project activities and organize for Client approval
 Carry out Internal audits & Face the Client audits to improve the QMS.
 Ensure all records such as PAR, CAR, NCR, etc. Are maintained as per project requirements and
QMS.
 Overall control of Non-Conforming products, Root Cause Analysis and coordinate with project team
to initiate the appropriate Corrective/Preventive action for Non- conformance’s identified during the
construction activities
Responsibilities Handling as a Welding Inspector

 Elaborating and coordinating the welding specification and codes/standards

 Coordination with the field subcontractor for all welder qualification test, welding procedure
specification and procedure qualification report.
 Review course and effects of welding defects and take remedial actions.
 Review of the radiography film and all NDT activities on a daily basis.
 Witnessing the welder qualification test.
 Reviewing of welding summary reports.
 Monitoring any post weld heat treatment on site and review the completed test reporting.
 Advising the site subcontractors with regards to welding and testing.
 Selection of weld for non-destructive testing.
 Recording and listing of defective welds.
 Monitoring the control and issue of welding electrodes.
 Review day to day applications for x-raying of welds.
 Compete site quality instructions to subcontractors when required.
