The Importance of Social Distancing Now

Social distancing is recommended by the government, to combat the spread of COVID-19 (Corona
Virus Disease 2019). Firstly, before we continue to our topic about Social Distancing, let us know
what COVID-19, COVID-19 is a virus that's currently raging in the world, COVID-19 respiratoly
illnes caused by a new virus, symptoms include fever, coughing, a sore throat and shortness of breath.
This virus can spread from one person to another person, but good hygiene can prevent infection.
Furthermore, what's the meaning of social distancing? Social distancing is that people stay far enough
away from each other so that the COVID-19 or any pathogen can't spread from person to person, and
also means not touching other people, and includes handshakes. It's very important for everyone to do.
It's because COVID-19 are highly contagious. However, until now there are still many people who
ignore this important thing to do. I can see on the internet or on TV, people still gather in the crowd or
hold events that are able to invite many people.
Recently, a study show that COVID-19 can last up to a few hours, depending on the type of surface,
temperature, or moisture of the environment. Even the latest COVID-19's update on Tuesday, April
27th, 2020 there are 7135 positive and 616 died.
Meanwhile, social distancing have started since March with workplaces and school are closed, all
worship or religious activities are limited only in the home and limited to activities in public places
and public facilities.
Therefore, we must uphold and take one of these precautions. If we can afford social distancing, we
can reduce the spread of the virus. If we can afford social distancing, we can get health.
Surely, as good and smart citizens, we must protect our bodies by doing social distancing, like this :
1. Not close or gather in the crowd
2. Use masks in public area
3. Keep a distance from others at least 1 meter
4. Stay At Home
5. Work from home
6. Learn from home
7. Don't hold activities/meetings that involve many people.
