Evidence: Colombian cultural ambassador

For this evidence, you need to choose eight (8) Colombian idiomatic expressions
and describe what they mean is such a way that a foreigner can understand them.

• Expression: Dar papaya


• Example: Juan dio papaya y lo robaron
• Meaning: It mean that you are giving the opportunity to something bad
happens, because your imprudence.

• Expression: Chiviado
• Example: Me compre un cd chiviado
• Meaning: It´s something object copied from one original, therefore, it have
low value.

• Expression: Dejame masticarlo


• Example: No se si prestarte dinero, déjame masticarlo
• Meaning: Is an expression used when you need take a moment to think
something for take a good decision.

• Expression: Chimbo
• Example: Ese celular salió chimbo y ya se dañó.
• Meaning: This expression is used for objects or something with low quality.

• Expression: Echar los perros


• Example: Mario le esta echando los perros a Camila.
• Meaning: Used to indicate that someone is trying to make someone else fall
in love
• Expression: Hacer vaca
• Example: Vamos a hacer vaca para comprar comida.
• Meaning: It refer to join money between many people to buy something

• Expression: Cantaleta
• Example: ¡Mama deje de echarme cantaleta!
• Meaning: it is a colloquial way to indicate a scolding

• Expression: Pola
• Example: Venga a mi casa y nos tomamos unas polas
• Meaning: It´s a different way of naming beer
