TITLE: FACTORS AFFECTING CARE OF YOUNG CHILDREN AMONG


WORKING WOMEN IN DERA GHAZI KHAN

ABSTRACT

Mother is the first teacher and she is a biological and social female parent of an off
spring. Mother plays a very important role in the life of a child grows in stage, role of the
mother change according to the need of child Adolescent is a transition stage (Tanti et al.,
2010). The employment of mothers can improve her children’s health by bringing in the
money that can permit a healthier lifestyle for the family ‘and may also permit better
health care through employer provide health insurance coverage. However her children’s
health could also be impacted negatively because of the added burden on the mother’s
time; resulting in less supervision or care of the children. Supervision and monitoring of
children of employed mothers suffer badly. The responsibility of supervision and
monitoring of children is associated with mothers. When children are unmonitored and
unsupervised they most likely show the negative effects in conduct and behavior.
Objectives of the study will be (1) to study the demographics information of the
respondents in the research area, (2) to examine the social and psychological problems
faced by the children of working women in Dera Ghazi Khan City, (3) to study the impact
of mother’s employment on the health of children in Dera Ghazi Khan City and (4). To
study the factors affecting child care working mothers in Dera Ghazi Khan City. The
universe of the present study will be city Dera Ismail Khan. For this study, a sample of
160 respondents (working women having at least one children age ranging from one day-
12 years) will be selected through multistage sampling technique. At first stage, 4 union
councils will be selected through simple random sampling, at second stage, 2
colonies/mohallahs/towns will be selected each union councils through randomly, and at
third stage, 20 respondents (working women having at least one children age ranging
from one day-12 years) will be selected from each colonies/mohallahs/towns through
convenient sampling technique. To get information, a research tool will be constructed in
the light of study objective an0d to check the accuracy of research tool, pretesting will be
made on 20 respondents. Data will be analyzed by Statistical Package for Social Science
(SPSS) and the obtained results will be utilized for recommendations that will minimize
the problems of women entrepreneurs and their impact on working efficiency.
