What is your Job Scope? Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities
 To be responsible for the security of IRC staffs and goods on board.
 To give maximum support to programme implementation.
 To be responsible for the speed boat driving, navigating the safest
route to the destination
 Be responsible for the condition of the speedboat and its
maintenance.

Technical
 To maintain speed boat in good driving condition.
 Before every trip to check:
 Fuel level + fuel reserve,
 Oil and water levels,
 State of cables, necessary tools, etc

 Each last week of the month, undertake the general monthly

checking of the engine and boat in general and to make on verbal
report to Supervisor without any delay (to explain what has been
checked and if there are any defects or spare parts to be checked or
replaced)
 Ensure that the number of passengers and/or load do not exceed
the authorized weight of the load, and ensure for proper arranging
of the load in the boat.
 Be responsible of the good maintenance of the tools, toolbox, first
aid kit, security swimming belts and other accessories on board.
 Administrative
 In case of any kind of accident occurred during the travel, make a
written report to supervisor the same day.
 To check the weekly travel plan with the Field Coordinator and
Supervisor and receive their approval of the travels.
 Fill in the speedboat logbook: filling in date kilometres and amount
of fuel used, time of departure and arrival to destination. Make
written note of difficulties encountered.

General
 Have full and final responsibility for overall security of passengers
and goods during travel.
 Pay attention to the weather and general conditions before
undertaking the trip and inform the supervisor and programme
staff if the weather, tides or sea conditions require a change of plans.
 Be supportive of all activities implemented by the programme
teams.
 Perform any other tasks assigned by the Field Coordinator and/or
Senior Logistics Officer as appropriate.

What you should have?

Education
 High School (or) Graduated

Experiences

 Must have an up to date boat driving license.

 At least 3 years driving experience in Speed Boat driving.
 Have knowledge for waterways in Rakhine State in general and willingness to quickly learn those in the IRC
programme area.
 The applicant must have basic mechanical knowledge.
 The applicant must have some general knowledge in weather forecasting.

Language
 Basic Knowledge of English.
