THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

Introduction

Many people strive for perfection, especially when it comes to the way

they look, and among biggest factors that affect appearance is skin. But while

some think that the skin on their face, arms, or legs are the only areas that

matter, it’s actually equally important to care for hidden parts of the body as

these are just as likely to develop darkness, blemishes, and uneven tone.

The underarm in particular are a difficult area of a skin to manage. They’re

subject to friction and even hair growth, requiring people to constantly have to

remove hair with methods that are less than ideal for the skin underneath.

The very ingredient you need to bring your underarm skin to life could be

sitting in your kitchen at this very moment. Calamansi or the Calamondin, is a

lime like fruit that is commonly found in the Philippines. This often sour, small,

and green fruit is used by many as natural remedy to achieve healthy, even

toned, and radiant skin.

Legal basis

Component Head Rey Lara and the representatives of various agencies

gathered for the signing of the memorandum of understanding for the

implementation of the Provincial Commodity Investment Plan particularly

on the calamansi industry.

Key technologies, relevant information, and other resources can be

maximized and will benefit more people when national government

agencies, local government units (LGUs), and the private sector converge.

That is mainly why the formation of an alliance among various agencies

was formalized in the Province of Oriental Mindoro. Specifically, the

province aims to reinforce its calamansi industry through the said

convergence and the investments of various government and

nongovernment offices.

The Oriental Mindoro interagency convergence included the Department

of Agrarian Reform (DAR), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI),

Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Bureau of Plant Industry

(BPI), Bureau of Soils and Water Management (BSWM), Agricultural

Training Institute (ATI), Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC),

Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Landbank of the Philippines,

Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and the

Mindoro State College of Agriculture and Technology (MSCAT).

“Our purpose this time is organizing an interagency convergence for

facilitating the different programs and projects for the calamansi

[industry],” explained PRDP MIMAROPA Regional Project Director

Cipriano Santiago.

The calamansi, being a top agricultural produce of many provinces in the

country particularly Oriental Mindoro, is also the core commodity

supported by the pilot subprojects of the PRDP in the MIMAROPA Region.

Improving the calamansi value chain was one of the objectives of the

PRDP-funded subprojects in the province. The said subprojects are the

Oriental Mindoro Calamansi Trading Center and Buying Station, which is

at the completion stage, the completed Barangay Bagong Silang to

Macatoc farm-to-market road (FMR), and the ongoing Barangay Dulangan

I to Dulangan II FMR.

Through the newly formed inter-agency alliance, more projects and

investments are expected for the enhancement of the province’s

calamansi industry. The memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed by

the regional counterparts of various agencies will serve as their formal

commitment not just in the implementation but also in the mainstreaming

of Oriental Mindoro’s Provincial Commodity Investment Plan (PCIP).

The MIMAROPA Region has diverse agricultural commodities from its five

provinces. Through the mainstreaming of PCIPs and the interagency

convergence, specific priority interventions will be identified and

implemented for the development of the commodity value chains, and

eventually that of the rural communities in the region.

Setting of the Study

The area of this research took place in researcher’s residences and was

conducted in Tomas Claudio Colleges Morong, Rizal where in the following

respondents are selected and data are gathered.

Calamansi fruit has a potent enough formulation to help that stubborn dark

underarm skin become lighter in just a few days’ time. This is because calamansi

contains a natural skin whitening properties that renew skin cells to bring out a

said experiment and will serve input. As the experiment is conducted the effects

of calamansi will be tested and validated. The experiment will produce a healthy,

even toned, and radiant underarm skin that uses calamansi extract as natural

remedy and substitute for deodorant.

Statement of the Problem

Main Problem:

Can the calamansi (Citrofortunella microcarpa) fruit will be a better natural

remedy for underarm whitening?

beautiful result will reveal.

This study wants to test the calamansi fruit as natural remedy to substitute

expensive deodorant. This is because calamansi is abundant here in the

Philippines.

Hypotheses of the Study

Problem: Can the calamansi (Citrofortunella microcarpa) fruit will be a better

natural remedy for underarm whitening?

Alternative Hypotheses: Calamansi fruit can be an effective natural

remedy for underarm whitening.

Significance of the Study

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of calamansi as an

underarm whitening. This study deals with the assessment of individuals, most

especially teenager girls that suffering from dark underarm. The researcher’s

what to know the benefits and effects on the individuals who will use calamansi

as an underarm whitening. The researcher’s desire is to discover on how to

achieve healthy, even toned and radiant skin with the use of calamansi as natural

remedy and without spending a lot of money. The benefit involves the

environment, human skin care, and the economy of the Philippines.

Scope and Limitation of the Study

The purpose of this study is finding a better underarm whitening with the

use of calamansi extract as natural remedy. The experimental study will

conducted to certify if the calamansi extract is better than other deodorant in

terms of benefits and price. The study would be done in Tomas Claudio Colleges

Morong, Rizal that would around 8 weeks to finish the study.

Definition of Terms

Calamondin – A small hybrid citrus tree.

Deodorant – a substance that you put on your body especially underarms

to prevent, remove, or hide unpleasant smell.

Emerge – To rise or appear.

Paradigm – A model or pattern for something.

Remedy – A medicine or treatment that relieves pain or cures a usually a

minor illness.

Slough – To kill.

Vicinity – The area around or near a particular place.
