MY PRIOR KNOWLEDGE

Output #10

1. Recall a recent incident in your life when you had to decide. Narrate the situation (in a
bond paper). Indicate what the decision was about, the factors that were involved and how
you arrived at your decision.

Managers are constantly called upon to make decisions to solve problems. But as
for me one of my toughest decision I made is choosing my course. My parents
want me to take a business major, yet I still chose Food Technology because I love
dealing and knowing more about food up to this date I still don’t regret and I’m
that decision.

LEARNING PLAN (The Module Proper)

Output #11

1. As you read through Freud’s theory, fill out the graphic organizer below to highlight the
important concepts:

LEARNING TASK
Output # 12

1. Reflection from the module, write a brief reflection on Freud’s theories. Choose only one
of his theories that affect you the most.

The oral phase in the normal infant has a direct bearing on the infant’s activities during the
first 18 months of life. For the newborn, the mouth is the all-absorbing organ of pleasure. Freud
said that through the mouth the infant contacts the first object of sexual energy, the mother’s
breast. Oral needs are also satisfied by thumb-sucking or inserting environmental objects, such as
dolls, other toys, or blankets into the mouth. Freud believed the oral phase begins to shift toward
the end of an infant’s first year to the anal region.

Oral fixation can result in problems with drinking, eating, smoking, or nail-biting. Because
the infant is entirely dependent upon caretakers, the child also develops a sense of trust and
comfort through this oral stimulation.

LEARNING TASK
Output #13

1. Why do you think did Karen prefer the 20-peso bills?

Because the three-year-old Karen are exposed on small amount of money than the bigger
amount, so she won’t accept it. Maybe, it is also new to her eyes to see a hundred-peso bill.
(Schema Stage)

2. Why do you think Reil answered ‘bears?’ What does his mommy say about on how she
thought to answer the questions?

Reil is not yet aware of the terms but maybe it registered bears in his mind because its
more plenty and easier for him to recognize. (Schema Stage)

3. Why do you think baby Liza appeared to enjoy dropping the spoon?

Baby Liza is on her stage on little exploring stage which makes her enjoy hearing and
dropping the spoons. (Assimilation Stage)

LEARNING TASK

Output # 14

Discuss. From the module on Jean Piaget’s on Stages of cognitive development, I learned that
(make a short discussion on what you have learned -with no erasures).

There Are three basic components to Piaget's Cognitive Theory. First one is scheme
which is the building blocks of knowledge. While adaptation processes that enable the transition
from one stage to another which are equilibrium, assimilation, and accommodation. Also, the
stages of cognitive development which are sensorimotor, preoperational, concrete operational,
formal operational.

The goal of the theory is to explain the mechanisms and processes by which the infant,
and then the child, develops into an individual who can reason and think using hypotheses. To
Piaget, cognitive development was a progressive reorganization of mental processes because of
biological maturation and environmental experience. Children construct an understanding of the
world around them, then experience discrepancies between what they already know and what
they discover in their environment.
