THE BIGGEST PROBLEM FRACING OUR

EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM TODAY

As a student for me the biggest problem we are facing right now is the communication
between the teacher and a student because as a student sometimes, we are facing a family
problem that affects our grades. We need the communication to give us an advice because I do
belived that our teacher is our second mother. And also as a student I already experienced to
be bullied by my own classmates before, And I can say that it really affect my grades.

 financial problem, sometimes student cannot enter school because they struggling in
financial problem and it really affects the educational system.
 Lack of education, we are currently struggling because of lack of education. A lot of
students didn’t value the worth of knowledge.
 Student attitude, because sometimes, there’s a student’s who have a bad attitude that
may affect other student because of bullying.

The biggest problem today in EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM is turning out students that are well
balanced mentally, spiritually, emotionally, physically and financially. The curriculum today at
schools deals more with academic studies and information than it does with being able to attain
the success that everyone aspires. The narrow focus on the curriculum students who do not
excel in traditional academic courses (English, Mathematics, and Science) feel disconnected in
school and continue to underperform. Education is as much about preparing the next generation
of citizens and leaders as it is about training students for future careers. When we focus only on
how students are performing in English, math, and science, we lose out on developing other
skills that students need to be successful in the real world. We spend too little time focusing on
real-world skills such as creative problem solving, cooperation, communication, and leadership.

Education in the Philippines is offered through formal and non-formal systems.

Formal education typically spans 14 years and is structured in a 6+4+4 system: 6 years of
primary school education, 4 years of secondary school education, and 4 years of
higher education, leading to a bachelor's degree.

Education is a vital component in the making of a great and strong nation. The government
should step into the issue on constantly increasing tuition fees and the cost of educational
materials, especially books that are allowed to be changed so unreasonably often for obvious
reasons. If patriotism were in the hearts of our legislators, they should work for free education in
our country up to the secondary level. No money? Come on! All they need to do is to put down
graft and corruption in our country, and we can embark on this dream of free education for our
youth.

According to, Oliver A, Almero. The Philippine educational system is the common
denominator of all Filipinos. Unless educators will believe that Filipinos must be educated
and trained as the most important God fearing, patriotic and good managers of our
country’s resources and the whole world and not the most important resource for cheap
quality exports, then and only then that this country can be redirected to productivity,
progress, prosperity and peace.

We have seen as of this day, the results of the present educational system of our country or
where this system has taken us. Our political leaders who passed this system are trying to
solve or minimize they consider as problems. Their solutions: War On Poverty, War On
Drugs, War On Terrorism, etc. Little did they know that they are not problems but rather
results without any solutions. Results of an educational system that will not primarily benefit
our motherland. Parents have invested so much on education that the fastest and highest
returns must be realized as quickly as possible. Thus the enticement of the fully developed
countries is so appealing that further helps in exacerbating poverty in our country. Now,
they call the overcrowded Metro Manila as the imperial city after their graduates’ emigration
to the detriment of their own hometown.

 Lack of funds – because there’s a lot of student who can afford to enter the school
and financial problem.
 Lack of teachers – some of school cannot afford to have a bunch of teachers
specially, private schools.
 Lack of classrooms – our government cannot afford to build a lot of classroom.

HOW TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM IN OUR EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM

- SOLUTION NO. 1 Provide good prenatal care for every pregnant woman.

SOLUTION NO. 2 Make high-quality early childhood education available to all

children.

SOLUTION NO. 3 Every school should have a full, balanced, and rich curriculum,
including the arts, science, history, literature, civics, geography, foreign languages,
mathematics, and physical education.
 SOLUTION NO. 4 Reduce class sizes to improve student achievement and
behavior.

SOLUTION NO. 5 Ban for-profit charters and charter chains and ensure that charter
schools collaborate with public schools to support better education for all children.

SOLUTION NO. 6 Provide the medical and social services that poor children need to
keep up with their advantaged peers.

SOLUTION NO. 7 Eliminate high-stakes standardized testing and rely instead on

assessments that allow students to demonstrate what they know and can do.

SOLUTION NO. 8 Insist that teachers, principals, and superintendents be

professional educators.

SOLUTION NO. 9 Public schools should be controlled by elected school boards or

by boards in large cities appointed for a set term by more than one elected official.

SOLUTION NO. 10 Devise actionable strategies and specific goals to reduce racial
segregation and poverty.

But for me as a student, the solution to our educational system is the communication
and connection of our government. We should unite as one the teacher, the student and
the government. And also we need to help each other for us to be able to grow not only
as student but also for ourselves.
