FINAL MAJOR ASSESSMENT

A college student talking to themselves in front of the mirror about their disappointments,

setbacks, motivations, and goals to finish college.

Hey you, yes you.

Have you done all your assessments already?
No, I’m tired.
Ha! There you are again procrastinating, you barely do anything today!
I told you I’m tired! I’ve finished all my requirements last week and now, in just a span of 2
days, all my school works are all piled up again???
You are not supposed to rest. Do it now!
No! I deserve it. I deserve to rest! I’m mentally and emotionally exhausted with all of this! All
I’m asking for this day is to let me rest, is that hard.
Yeah, whatever you say. But you know what, you’re right. You deserve it. We’ve been doing
this for quite a while now. We’re tired.
I know. It’s not that bad for us to take a break from all of this.
To be honest, I’m really upset and I get so disappointed with you. I see you’ve lost your
interest and passion because of the pandemic. I pity you.
I know. I’m just tired, studying became so exhausting because of this pandemic. I don’t even
know if I’m still learning to be honest.
Well you are, I know it deep within you. You just lack perseverance to fully learn and excel
in you courses. This is not who you are! Where is the person who has enjoyed studying, and
the person who always strive to get the highest grade in everything?
… I don’t even know. Maybe we lost her? This pandemic has been consuming me in every
way possible. What else could have happened this year!
Well, I cannot blame you for that. But you know what? I’m proud of you.
Ha! Are you kidding me? What else can you be proud of?
Because you are surviving. We are.
What do you mean?
I mean, look at you. Look at us, we’re still here. Through all the hassles we’ve been through,
we’re still here coping.
Yeah, you’re right. We should be proud of ourselves!
Yeah, life isn’t a race, and grades won’t define you. So yeah, we should chill a bit and just
enjoy the process.
I know, we’ll get there.
Just remember the things that motivates you, your family, your education, your future, and of
course you!
You’re right.
I know, just 2 more years and we’re done! I cannot wait for you to spoil ourselves!!
In your dreams!
But seriously, give yourself a tap in back for doing so well. No matter what happens, trust the
process, and we’ll get there.
