Use the X I was able to meet this particular skill through the
expressive arts as performing art courses offered at Seton Hill University.
a mode of inquiry Courses such a jazz, modern, ballet, and dance
or expression kinesiology taught me how to express myself through
movement. An assignment from dance kinesiology, that
helped me develop this specific skill was a somatic
practice project. Through this project I was able to study
the Feldenkrais Method that was used to bring about
self-awareness. The purpose of this method is to practice
gentle movements in order to enhance different aspects.
While teaching my classmates, I was able to achieve the
skill of using the expressive arts as a mode of inquiry.
Propose new X I feel that I was able to gain this skill through Seton Hill
solutions to by presenting an oral presentation of rainforest
current issues deforestation. My biosphere project showed the current
issues happening to the environment due to
deforestation. I developed clear arguments that
acknowledged how deforestation is causing an extreme
increase in habitat loss for so many animals and species.
I proposed ways in which we can find solutions to help
protect our rainforests. Some of these solutions included
planting new trees and a major cut back on paper. The
world we live in today is more than capable of operating
online, so it would not be a difficult task to accomplish. I
believe this assignment taught me valuable skills on how
to think of solutions when faced with difficult
circumstances.

Generate and X Seton Hill has taught me the valuable skills of generating
analyze numerical and analyzing scientific data through the many science
and scientific data based labs I have taken. Throughout my organic chemistry
laboratory courses, I wrote many lab reports. Before
completing the lab reports I was expected to perform an
experiment and then examine the numerical/scientific
data. The purpose of most experiments was to identify
unknown substances in the solutions we were given. In
order to do this, we had to interpret the numerical data
that came from our NMR data sheet. This was a difficult
task to accomplish. It took a lot of time and practice to be
able to correctly generate and examine the scientific data
that resulted from our experiments. Thus, representing the
skills met under this objective.
Organize and X A creative way I chose to impact others was by filming and
manage editing a video on Down Syndrome. I organized medical
resources in a information, videos, pictures, and inspiring stories into a
creative way to short film that I later presented to my classmates. This
achieve impact project was very personal and important to me. Therefore,
I was overjoyed when I saw my classmate’s positive
reactions to my video. Since then, I posted the video to
YouTube and was able continue to impact others views
and knowledge on Down Syndrome. Therefore, I feel that I
was definitely able to develop the skills presented in this
objective.
Interpret X Through the science courses I have taken at Seton Hill, the
quantitative and following skills of interpreting quantitative and qualitative
qualitative data have been met. During the course of Cell Biology, I
information to was required to complete a semester long project that
present a logical pertained to the study of cigarette chemicals on lungs. I
argument based spent the semester growing and experimenting with
on supporting different doses of hydroquinone and lung fibroblast cells.
data In order to present our findings based on the logic, we first
had to collect qualitative and quantitative data. The
qualitative data consisted of the examination of images
that showed living and dead cells. We then had to find
quantitative data by determining the rate of cell survival.
Therefore, I feel this research project represents the
previous skills mentioned.

Demonstrate X The time I have spent at Seton Hill has definitely taught me
ethical decision- the importance of self-reflection and assessment. I feel
making that certain classes have allowed me to grow as a student
grounded in and also a person. Philosophy in particular, was a class in
philosophical which I developed the skills of ethical decision-making. The
inquiry assignment that stood out the most for me, was when we
were asked to complete an online test that proposed
different circumstances in which we were expected to
make the moral and ethical decision. I had to take all
aspects of the situation into consideration while making
each choice. This was more challenging than I expected.
Another assignment that pertained to these particular
skills was examining the well-known, “Trolley Problem.”
While a train is in motion to hit five workers on the train
track, you are put into a position to where you can change
to course of the train. However, if you change the trains
direction it will head down a track that will hit one worker.
When put in this situation I was asked to make a decision
that I felt was most ethical. Therefore, I feel that I have
developed the previously mentioned skills due to
practicing this type of decision-making.
Recognize the X While taking the Faith Religion and Society course offered
value of diverse at Seton Hill, I learned multiple different religious views
spiritual and and how the all correlate to one another. The religions I
religious was able to study included, Buddhism, Judaism,
perspectives Christianity, and Hinduism. For our assignments in the
class we were asked to research each religion and be able
to discuss how the views varied for each. I was really
surprised with how similar the religions were. Each religion
practices unique traditions, but still stem from a common
thought. By taking this class I gained a deeper respect for
new religious traditions and even was able to learn
interesting knowledge about my own religion. After
finishing this class I feel I have developed the skills to
recognize the various spiritual perspectives.
Integrate the X The activity I feel helped me to obtain the following skills
practice of was a charity event at Seton Hill. The event I volunteered
charity with the at was an event called, “Walk for Peace.” Participants were
skill of justice asked to bring their pets and walk around a guided trial to
raise awareness of peace. I was in charge of directing
people in the right direction on the trials. This event was
aimed towards bringing peace and justice to our conflicting
world. Before the Peace Walk began, those who brought
their pets had the opportunity to have them receive a
special blessing. The proceeds from the walk went
towards, Seton Center Adult Day Care and Child Care and
Greater Greensburg Faith in Action. By participating in this
charity event, I was able to gain the skills mentioned in this
objective.
