The original detailed estimate was technically sanctioned by the Chief

Engineer, Irrigation Development Zone, Lahore vide No. DB/Dev/2012/3501-02/129/2011
dated 16.4.2012 and L-Section of irrigation channel and minors was approved vide No.
PD/SDO/2013/2394/230-g, dated: 04-04-2013, data is tabulated as below:

Later on, PC-I was revised and revised detailed estimate was technically sanctioned
by the Chief Engineer, Irrigation Development Zone, Lahore vide No. CE/DB/8656-
59/129/2014, dated 03-12-2014 and revised L-Section of irrigation channel and minors was
approved vide No. PD/SDO/2013/4009/230-g, dated: 11-06-2015, data is tabulated as
below:

Length of main irrigation channel reduced from 20+000 ft. to 19+500 ft. due to
avoiding extra curve in channel and same is captioned in revised approved L-Section.
Length of Minor II “2 - L” increased from 3+800 ft. to 9+000 ft. due to local inhabitant agitated

for inclusion of their land on other side of nullah. After carrying out survey at site, it was
concluded that there is 300 acres of leveled land is available on other side of nullah which
could be irrigated through gravity and resultantly length of Minor II “2 - L” increased.
2nd revision of L-Section of irrigation channel was carried vide No.
PD/SDO/2013/2732/230-g, dated: 25-05-2017 of same length due to addition of culvert for
road crossing at Pindi Gheb to Maira Sharif road at RD. 18+370 to 18+470. Furthermore,
route of Minor II “2 - L” was changed from RD 0+000 to 3+100 due to local inhabitants
hindrance and demand but overall length remained same.
Presently, Sowra dam project has been completed at site, comparison of constructed
irrigation channel against the 2nd revised L-section is tabulated as below:

Length of Minor II “2 - L” reduced from 9+000 ft. to 8+600 ft. due to avoiding extra
curve in minor. For Minor I “1 - L” length is reduced from 5+500 to 3+756 ft., reasons have
already been explained vide this office letter No. EE/DDVI/2018/3133-34/10-W, dated: 03-
09-2018. Therefore, it is requested to approve the amended / as built L-section of irrigation
channel of Sowrra Dam submitted to your office vide this office letter No. 432/10W dated
2.3.2018. So that variation statement may be submitted for approval of finalization of project.
