DESCRIPTION : Schematic Design
1. Maximum solar heat gain coefficient for window (SHGC) is exceeded than KM standard
clause 5.4, design consultant to rectify and resubmit again, accordingly the materials
used for thermal insulations shall be approved by KM before installed, moreover U-value
and solar heat gain coefficient shall be certified by manufacturer or other third party
before constructed. Sectional details including component /layer for external wall/roof
/partition/window shall be submitted for approval.
2. Contractor /design consultant to rectify if reheat system has to be installed for area
serviced by AHU-01 where sensible heat ratio is less than 0.7.
3. Contractor/design consultant to justify of AHU-01 units that CFM/TR is less than 300
instead of 350 to 450 as per ASHREA standard.
4. Diffusers installed shall be standard square diffusers type not PSD diffusers with square
neck size.
5. Return air system to the units shall be throughout standard square return diffuser
coordinated with other services in the false ceiling.
6. All AHUs shall be equipped with sound attenuator to control noise levels in the main
return and main supply air ducting system.
7. Fresh air system shall be in accordance with ASHRAE standard 62.1 latest revision and
all areas except toiles shall be under positive pressure.
8. EER (Energy Efficiency Ratio) of AHUs and split units shall meet or exceed minimum
efficiency requirements mentioned in KM regulations table 06.1, @ 46 C ambient
temperature, in this regard, units selections considering KM standard, total cooling loads,
sensible loads, On/Off coil temperature and electrical power consumptions shall be
submitted for approvals.
9. Referring to drawings Contractor/design consultant to ensure that flow rate summation of
individual SD/EG/SG is equal total capacity which has been stated in the schedule of
equipment for AHUs and EX fans,
10. Contractor to rectify size of Ex/Fresh air-louver where the velocity is exceeded ASHREA
standard requirements for free area (50 % of gross area) referring to Table 1.9 Typical
Design Velocities for HVAC Components ASHRAE standard.
11. Air curtains and water cooler is missing from the drawings and has be provided as per
scope of work and international standard.

12. As per agreement later, velocity in the main ducting of AHUS shall not exceed 1600 fpm.
13. Selections of diffusers/grilles considering face velocity, neck size, noise criteria and throw
shall be submitted for approval.
14. Drain points of All AHUs/ split units shall be provided with Funnels drain system (indirect
drain system).
15. External static pressure calculations for AHUs and Exhaust fans shall be submitted for
approvals.
16. Design consultant to rectify that Door grille and Door Undercuts are provided and
coordinated with the Arch department.
17. The contractor/design consultant to ensure that Fire dampers/ fire smoke motorized
dampers (if required) shall be installed in accordance with NFPA 101/5000 and approved
life safety plan.
18. All outdoor units shall be equipped with drain points.
19. Contractor shall raise RFI to PWA engineer pertaining the provisions of BMS
requirements for HVAC system, otherwise it has to be provided according to project
scope of work.
20. Cause and effect matrix for all ACMV equipment shall be provided.
21. Standard details and general notes shall be submitted.
22. Air balance calculations report shall be submitted for supply and exhaust system.
23. Hedges around the outdoor units shall be provided to hide mechanical equipment.
24. Ducting size for all AHUs with double line shall be provided considering limitations of
velocity in the main duct as our discussion before.
25. UPS room shall be provided with exhaust system, please check ACH as per standard.
26. Contractor to verify dimensions of AHUs and it can accommodate inside mechanical room
considering area required for maintenance.
27. Cooling load required for server room shall be as per actual heat dissipations coming
from the equipment.

outdoor temperature while split units shall meet or exceed minimum efficiency
requirements mentioned in KM regulations table 06.1, @ 46 C ambient temperature, in
this regard, units selections considering KM standard, total cooling loads, sensible loads,
On/Off coil temperature and electrical power consumptions shall be submitted for
approvals.
