06- Administration (Al Khor & Mesaimeer) (B: Approved as Noted)


The Proposed air conditioning AHUs system with bypass VAV box in some area for
Administration (Al Khor & Mesaimeer) are acceptable as preliminary design only and has
no objection subject to address and comply with these following comments.

1. Maximum solar heat gain coefficient for window (SHGC) is exceeded than KM standard
clause 5.4, design consultant to rectify and resubmit again, accordingly the materials
used for thermal insulations shall be approved by KM before installed, moreover U-value
and solar heat gain coefficient shall be certified by manufacturer or other third party
before constructed. Sectional details including component /layer for external wall/roof
/partition/window shall be submitted for approval.
2. Contractor /design consultant to rectify if reheat system has to be installed for area
serviced by AHU-01 where sensible heat ratio is less than 0.7.
3. Contractor/design consultant to justify of AHU-01 units that CFM/TR is less than 300
instead of 350 to 450 as per ASHREA standard.
4. Diffusers installed shall be standard square diffusers type not PSD diffusers with square
neck size.
5. Return air system to the units shall be throughout standard square return diffuser
coordinated with other services in the false ceiling.
6. All AHUs shall be equipped with sound attenuator to control noise levels in the main
return and main supply air ducting system.
7. Fresh air system shall be in accordance with ASHRAE standard 62.1 latest revision and
all areas except toiles shall be under positive pressure.
8. EER (Energy Efficiency Ratio) of AHUs and split units shall meet or exceed minimum
efficiency requirements mentioned in KM regulations table 06.1, @ 46 C ambient
temperature, in this regard, units selections considering KM standard, total cooling loads,
sensible loads, On/Off coil temperature and electrical power consumptions shall be
submitted for approvals.
9. Referring to drawings Contractor/design consultant to ensure that flow rate summation of
individual SD/EG/SG is equal total capacity which has been stated in the schedule of
equipment for AHUs and EX fans,
10. Contractor to rectify size of Ex/Fresh air-louver where the velocity is exceeded ASHREA
standard requirements for free area (50 % of gross area) referring to Table 1.9 Typical
Design Velocities for HVAC Components ASHRAE standard.
11. Air curtains and water cooler is missing from the drawings and has be provided as per
scope of work and international standard.

12. As per agreement later, velocity in the main ducting of AHUS shall not exceed 1600 fpm.
13. Selections of diffusers/grilles considering face velocity, neck size, noise criteria and throw
shall be submitted for approval.
14. Drain points of All AHUs/ split units shall be provided with Funnels drain system (indirect
drain system).
15. External static pressure calculations for AHUs and Exhaust fans shall be submitted for
approvals.
16. Design consultant to rectify that Door grille and Door Undercuts are provided and
coordinated with the Arch department.
17. The contractor/design consultant to ensure that Fire dampers/ fire smoke motorized
dampers (if required) shall be installed in accordance with NFPA 101/5000 and approved
life safety plan.
18. All outdoor units shall be equipped with drain points.
19. Contractor shall raise RFI to PWA engineer pertaining the provisions of BMS
requirements for HVAC system, otherwise it has to be provided according to project
scope of work.
20. Cause and effect matrix for all ACMV equipment shall be provided.
21. Standard details and general notes shall be submitted.
22. Air balance calculations report shall be submitted for supply and exhaust system.
23. Hedges around the outdoor units shall be provided to hide mechanical equipment.
24. Ducting size for all AHUs with double line shall be provided considering limitations of
velocity in the main duct as our discussion before.
25. UPS room shall be provided with exhaust system, please check ACH as per standard.
26. Contractor to verify dimensions of AHUs and it can accommodate inside mechanical room
considering area required for maintenance.
27. Cooling load required for server room shall be as per actual heat dissipations coming
from the equipment.

06-OCC (Wadi Abu Saleel) (B: Approved as Noted)


The Proposed air conditioning AHUs system with bypass VAV box in some area for OCC
(Wadi Abu Saleel) are acceptable as preliminary design only and has no objection subject
to address and comply with these following comments.

1. Maximum solar heat gain coefficient for window (SHGC) is exceeded than KM standard
clause 5.4, design consultant to rectify and resubmit again, accordingly the materials
used for thermal insulations shall be approved by KM before installed, moreover U-value
and solar heat gain coefficient shall be certified by manufacturer or other third party
before constructed. Sectional details including component /layer for external wall/roof
/partition/window shall be submitted for approval.
2. Contractor /design consultant to justify why sq m/ TR is very high compared to
administration building (for example AHU-03 of 39.4 sq m / TR).
3. Diffusers installed shall be standard square diffusers type not PSD diffusers with square
neck size.

09-Recreational (Measaimeer & Wadi Abu Saleel) (B: Approved as Noted)


The Proposed air conditioning package system with bypass VAV box in the medical area
for Recreational @ (Measaimeer & Wadi Abu Saleel) are acceptable and has no
objection subject to address and comply with these following comments.

1. Maximum solar heat gain coefficient for window (SHGC) is exceeded than KM standard
clause 5.4, design consultant to rectify and resubmit again, accordingly the materials
used for thermal insulations shall be approved by KM before installed, moreover U-value
and solar heat gain coefficient shall be certified by manufacturer or other third party
before constructed. Sectional details including component /layer for external wall/roof
/partition/window shall be submitted for approval.
2. Contractor /design consultant to rectify if reheat system has to be installed for area

8. Contractor/design consultant shall rectify pressure type (negative or positive) for isolation
room in accordance with ASHRAE healthcare standard.
9. EER (Energy Efficiency Ratio) of PU shall comply with KM standard table 6.2 @ 35 C
outdoor temperature while split units shall meet or exceed minimum efficiency
requirements mentioned in KM regulations table 06.1, @ 46 C ambient temperature, in
this regard, units selections considering KM standard, total cooling loads, sensible loads,
On/Off coil temperature and electrical power consumptions shall be submitted for
approvals.

01-Guard Room. (C: Revise & Re-submit)


1. Maximum solar heat gain coefficient for window (SHGC) is exceeded than KM standard
clause 5.4, design consultant to rectify and resubmit again, accordingly the materials
used for thermal insulations shall be approved by KM before installed, moreover U-value
and solar heat gain coefficient shall be certified by manufacturer or other third party
before installed. Sectional details including component/layer for (external wall/roof
/partition/window) shall be submitted for approval.
2. EER (Energy Efficiency Ratio) of AC window units shall meet or exceed minimum
efficiency requirements mentioned in the KM regulations table 06.1, @ 46 C ambient
temperature, in this regard units selections considering KM standard, total cooling loads,

alternative system such as and not limited to split units.

calculations of the units.
4. Capacities in the schedule equipment shall comply with cooling loads calculations ,
please rectify and has to be calculated @ 46C outdoor temperature.
5. Third party test report shall be submitted to verify EER, operating @ 52 C
6. Sample of AC units shall be test @ local laboratory in Qatar to verify EER, etc.

8. Ventilations calculations of fire pump and FCC room in the normal and fire mode shall be
submitted for approval.

9. As per discussion later, internal combustion engine for fire pump room shall be water
cooled type, otherwise calculations of ventilations of heat dissipation from engine shall be
submitted for approval.
10. Contractor to rectify size of Ex/Fresh air-louver in the service area where the velocity is
exceeded ASHREA standard requirements for free area (almost 50 % of gross area).
11. Drain points of all split units’ type shall be provided with Funnels drain system (indirect
drain system).
12. External static pressure calculations for Fresh/Exhaust fans shall be submitted for
approvals.
13. Ventilations calculations of the waste collections area shall be submitted for approval.
14. In the Service Building T-02,T03 exhaust fan for the waste collections area in the
schedule equipment of 825 l/s versus of 550 l/s in the plan, contractor to rectify which
one is correct as per the calculations.
15. Contractor to rectify based on scope of work requirements why fire pump room is
excluded from the service building T03.
16. Units number of exhaust wall mounted for waste collections to be modified to be
consisted with the plan.

04-Accomodation Building (C: Revise & Re-submit)


1. Unit locations not allowed condenser maintenance for units installed in the second and
third floors.
2. Proposed units’ locations (not in the center of the room will lead to poor air distributions in
the room)
3. Partitions is not proposed in the calculations for typical room that not accepted (partitions
shall be considered).
4. Noise levels for some units exceed the accepted range accordingly, the design consultant
shall propose alternative units.
5. Third party test report shall be submitted to verify EER, operating @ 52 C
6. Sample of AC units shall be test @ local laboratory in Qatar to verify EER, etc.

minimum efficiency requirements mentioned in the KM regulations table 06.1, @ 46 C
ambient temperature, in this regard units selections considering KM standard, total
cooling loads, sensible loads, On/Off coil temperature and electrical power consumptions
shall be submitted for approvals and shall comply with K.M requirements, etc. otherwise
use alternative system.

rectify (it is noted deviations between both) and has to calculated @ 46C outdoor
temperature.

calculations of the units.
12. Referring to drawings No.0202 EXH-F-01, Contractor to ensure that flow rate summation
of individual EG is equal total capacity which has been stated in the schedule of
equipment. Please note that is arbitrary checking, however contractor shall verify all units
as per concerns above.
13. Contractor to rectify size of Ex/Fresh air-louver in the toilet where the velocity is exceeded
ASHREA standard requirements for free area (50 % of gross area).
14. Air curtains and water cooler is missing from the drawings and has be provided as per
