Does sport help people to improve their social and

psychological well-being?
Sports are essential part of today’s society. Whether it is for
hobby, body-shape or some other reasons, every person has
practiced some kind of sport in their life. Physical activity is
important for the body, but it also has an effect on our
psychological wealth.
One of the main benefits of playing sports is that they improve
people’s social life. Many people struggle with finding friends or
even talking to others, so joining a team would be perfect for
them. Being around people with common interests and goals
makes everyone feel accepted and understood. This not only
improves communication skills but also is a perfect beginning of
new friendships.
However, there are people who think that sports are helpful only
to your body. Practicing physical activity every day may lead to
isolation from other people and deprivation of other significant
lifestyle events. Moreover, excessive sports lead to big injuries
and lifelong traumas.
Other measures that could help people to improve their social
and psychological well-being are for example joining a club and
find people with common interests. Also, positive thinking and
creating a purpose are very substantial for this.
In conclusion, I would say that without physical activity it would
be impossible for humanity to survive. There are many ways to
improve our social and psychological well-being, and in my
opinion sport is one of them.
