3. What is fluorescence?
Fluorescence is the emission of electromagnetic radiation usually in the visible spectrum
.it is caused by the atoms reverting back to the ground states from excited state.atoms
mainly acquire energy from xrays or electrons and jump to higher orbit instantly (with in
about 10-8 seconds).since its a instant process as soon as the energy is stopped the
fluorescence stops
2 way switch:-the main purpose of two way switching connection is to connect and
control AC appliances and equipment from two separate locations.
Intermediate switch:- are used for when there are three switches (or more)
controlling one light. An example of this could be on a landing, with a switch at the
bottom of the stairs, at the top of the stairs and at the end of the landing space.

Post – Lab Questions
1. What is the function of choke in the fluorescent lamp?
The choke or starter is used to limit the flow of current flow through the tube.it can be used
to provide the needed inductive forming a momentarily higher voltage pulse to start the
lamp .
SERIES CONNECTION:-
A circuit composed solely of components connected in series is known as a series circuit. In
a series circuit, the current that flows through each of the components is the same, and the
Voltage across the circuit is the sum of the individual voltage drops across each component. In a
series circuit, the sum of the voltages consumed by each individual resistance is equal to the
source voltage. Components connected in series are connected along a single conductive path,
so the same current flows through all of the components but voltage is dropped (lost) across
each of the resistances.
