Ped Ac<vity * The students will be introduced to the American symbols and the
agog Pledge of Allegiance, and to meet this standard they will be expected
y to identify the different American symbols and the meaning behind
each symbol and learn the words and meaning to the Pledge of
Allegiance.
* The students will be introduced to the lesson by the teacher, first
asking students background knowledge on each symbol and if they
know how to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. Next the teacher will play
a BrainPop video on US symbols and watch a short video of the
Pledge of Allegiance being recited.
* For a class project, the student will log onto ABCYa and use story
maker
* ABCYa is a educational website with many different games and
activities
* Storymaker is a fun and easy way for students to create and print
short stories
* Your story book should include the following
1. Title for your book.
2. Each page should be about the American Symbols
and/or Pledge of Allegiance we discussed in class, one
symbol per page.
3. Each page should include one American Symbol being
discussed, the origin or meaning of symbol, descrip<on
and drawing. Examples: American Flag, represents
freedom of United States, 7 red stripes, 6 white stripes
(include drawing).
4. AWer each page has met requirements, students will
print out their books to have for a study guide on our
upcoming test.
