1.INTRODUCTION

The aim of this document is to describe the potable Water system

functioning and operation modes, during normal operation, start up and

shut down, and also during abnormal conditions. The aim of this

document is to provide sufficient information leading to ensure a safe

system operation. Maximum operational allowable conditions,

environmental limitations and safety installation precautions are also

provided.

The advice and procedures provided in this Manual are not exhaustive of

every situation that may arise in the course of operating the plant and

are for the use of suitably qualified and experienced personnel. If there is

any discrepancy, ambiguity or divergence between sections of this

Manual, the most stringent requirement shall apply.

2 FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION

The Potable Water distribution System supplies potable water to the

plant users, The water source of potable water comes from Noor-III

water treatment plant and the potable water tank is filled from the

water pre-treatment plant. The potable water system is equipped with

2x100% potable water distribution pumps. And these pumps lay up near

the potable water tank. Potable water comes from Noor III water

treatment plant will be stored in the Potable water tank. Potable water

tank will be sized allowing max. 24h plant operation. Nominal capacity of

the Potable water tank is 10m3.The KKS code is: 35GKB10BB001.Control

of the potable Water distribution System shall be done through DCS.

5 PRECAUTIONS

Health and Safety requirements shall always be met during operation

and maintenance of the system.

5.1 Operational precautions

The system needs to be operated by counting on the following

conditions:

• Tanks are clean and free of strange objects.

• Control valves operate correctly.

• Mechanical connections between equipment and piping are in good

condition.

• Vent and drain pipes are free of blockages.

• Instrument air for pneumatic valves is available.

• Distributed control system (DCS) is operational.

• System instrumentation is fully operational.

5.2 Staff precautions

Plant personnel shall bear in mind the following precautions:

• Health Safety and Work Plan shall comply local regulation

requirements.

• Instructions and suitable warning signs must be placed to alert staff

about the location of the fire-fighting system, as well as any potential

hazards.

• Areas with high noise levels must be provided with warning signs for

ear protection.

5.3 Environmental precautions

• Make sure no leakages10take place on the Ca(OH)2 injection system.

• Make sure no leakages take place on the Potable tank piping and

equipment.

• Additional risks to personnel or environment are not identified.

6 PREREQUISITES AND LIMITATIONS

6.1 Operational prerequisites

Before system start-up the following issues shall be verified:

Filling line of the potable tank is available.

Electrical supply is available.

All system instrumentation is operational.

The Distributed Control System (DCS) is operational.

The potable water distribution systems must be received, tried and

approved by commissioning before operation.

6.2 Filling and emptying of system

6.2.1 Filling:

The following shall be verified prior to filling and operational limitations

only to this manual:

--The filling line is ready to fill the potable water tanks.

--All drain valves and instrument root valves are closed and all vents are

open.

--The system is filled manually through the following steps:

--Pre-requisites

1.Pumps are stopped.

2.All valves must be closed.

3.For filling operation, potable water supply valve 35GKB50AA095 must

be open.

4.Transfer pumps available.

Isolating valves connecting with other dependent and support

systems must be closed.12

Tank water level shall be less than highest water level.

6.2.2 Emptying:

Distribution headers are drained only if required (long shutdowns or

maintenance operations).

Emptying of the tank will be performed opening the required system

drain valve. This operation will be done at the time of maintenance of

the tank. At the time of emptying of the tank it should be keep in mind

that all isolation valves around the tank shall be closed and the tank vent

is not chocking.

6.3 System preparation previous to operation

Once the system is filled, the following pre-operation actions are to be

taken:

• The Distributed Control System (DCS) is operational.

• All drain valves are closed.

• All the system instrumentation is operational and root valves are open.

• All the alarms and anomalies are acknowledged and the equipment is

ready to operate under safe conditions.

7 SYSTEM START-UP

The system start-up takes place according to the following steps:

• Water Pre-treatment Plant runs in auto-mode.

• Minimum flow recirculation manual block valves are locked-open.

• Start one potable Water Pump.

• Check the potable water inlet valve 35GKB50AA095 must be open.

• As potable water consumption starts increasing turn on the second

potable Water Pump when the outlet pressure is low of the running

pump .

• Set Potable Water Pumps (WTP scope) to auto mode.

8 NORMAL OPERATION

8.1 General

During normal operation one potable Water Pump is running and the

stand-by pump is ready to operate. Potable water distribution pump flow

Is 10 t/h. The capacity of the Tank is 10m3. The distribution of Potable

9 SYSTEM SHUTDOWN

Shutdown of the Potable Water System may only take place during

overall plant shutdown. If shutdown is required, the following steps are

• Potable Water Tank 35GKB10BB001 is full.

• Ca(OH)2 Pump (WTP scope) is stopped.

• CO2 injection skid (WTP scope) is stopped.

• Close manual block discharge valves on potable Water Pumps.

• Close manual block discharge valve on Recirculation Pump.

• Spectacle blind is bolted on isolation position at water inlet nozzle from

WTP.

• All controls are set to manual mode .

10.2 Operators action

The following are the emergency or abnormal conditions and the

operations actions that need to be implemented in order to take the

system back to normal conditions:

10.2.1 Low level on potable Water Tank Plant :

1.Check the potable water tank drain valve is close .

2.Check the potable water tank no leakage .

3.Check the potable water pump no problem .

4.Check the level of potable tank is OK.

10.2.2 high level on potable Water Tank Plant :

11 REGULAR OPERATION CHECKING

The following section describes the routine inspections and checks that

the operators shall follow up for this system:

11.1 General

• Verify for potential leakages along the Potable Water System.

• Verify for adequate operation of control Valves are in the right state.

• Verify for adequate operation of the on-off valve

• Make sure there is no overflow on the potable Water Tank.

• Make sure that CO2 and Ca(OH)2 injection system operates correctly.

• Verify there is no leakage in the water Tank.
