The first impression of the hotel guest relies deeply on how the front desk
officer entertains them upon check in. Good personality, good communication skills,
patience and professionalism are some of the ideal characteristics that a receptionist
must possess in order to serve and satisfy the guests.

Problems sometimes arise on the front desk if one of the equipment is not
working. For instance, a guest paid his bill through credit card and the card verifier
failed to function. This incident can leave a bad impression to the guest since they
have high expectations on the services that the hotel offers. As a front desk officer,
you can avoid this situation if tools, equipment and paraphernalia are well-
maintained.

Making sure your tools are properly stored, cleaned, and well maintained will
save you time and money as well as making your and job much easier and
convenient. It is also important to use the appropriate cleaning tools and read the
user’s manual which is included upon purchase. Keeping all these tips will ensure
