Narrative Report on INSET 2020 Day 3

December 12, 2020

It was the third day of the In-Service Training for the teachers of Babag National High School

held at BNHS Second floor, TVL building. With the support of our beloved school principal Mr.

Ricardo T. Cayacap Jr., head teachers, master teachers and the leadership of INSET resource

speakers for the purpose of enhancing the teacher’s knowledge professional training, learner’s

opportunities and awareness about the 21 st Century skills including the grading system in the new

normal. The training covered four-day session from December 14-17, 2020.

INSET allows teachers to acquire professional goals for the success of the school as a whole

and increase the current level of knowledge and skills in their target areas. It is also a pertinent will for

us teachers to continually advance our understanding of the strategies and pedagogy of education to

provide quality and relevant education.

The third day of INSET training was started at 8:00 o’clock in the morning and the group 3

teachers were in-charge of the program. Mr. Louie Jay A. Cadungog served as the master of

ceremony that day. The program started with a simple prayer led by Mrs. Lelibeth Aque, followed by a

joyful Zumba exercise to energize the teachers headed by Mr. Nowell Torrejas, Ms. Grace V Mae

Jayme and Ms. Willa Dungog. On the other hand, Mrs. Arlene Buaya gave her overview of the topics

that were discussed last session.

One of the topics on the third day, was all about Creating HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills)

Questions which was discussed by Mrs. Audrey R. Masbang. She refreshed the minds of the

teachers about the concept of education reform based on the Bloom’s Taxonomy. She also shared

the purpose of questioning and how to make questions to provide opportunities of the students to

improve their understanding. Another topic was all about Teaching Strategies which is a method of

teaching or planning to achieve a goal and this was shared by Mrs. Chymbeelyn A. Ymbong. School

Forms, EBEIS, EMIS, LIS and LRMDS were discussed by Mrs. Geralyn D. Sumpok and Mrs. Jude

Marie T. Barduqiollo.
and these forms are very important as basis of personal records of the students and the

school.

The last topic in the afternoon discussed by Mrs. Dionerose I. Lago was all about the 4 Types

of Quotients. This is a very interesting topic because we need to be aware of the types of intelligence

to help improvise our personality. As teachers, we also need to develop our students along with their

quotients so that they grow up as mentally fit, responsible, talented individuals driving the world

towards love, peace and development.

The day 3 INSET ended with a closing prayer led by Mrs. Imelda Fajardo. Indeed, In Service

Training for teachers has not only provided the participants opportunity to gain new skills and

knowledge but also encouraged them to make positive changes around them. The participants of the

Dynamic Wikis group were very active in participating group activities and we also shared our

knowledge and experiences and learn new pedagogical approaches.
