s 2
The 2021 Division Planning Workshop (DPW) started at 09:00 o’clock in the morning with a prayer
A. Invocation 4 followed led by Ms. Adella A. Follante, Statistical Specialist.

It was then followed by an icebreaker led by Statistical Planning and Coordination (SPC) dividing the
B. Welcome and 8 group into three teams in a game of Q and A with a twist. After a healthy game among the groups the
Opening Remarks 9 ice breaker was then followed by the Welcome Remarks of the Statistical Operations and Coordination
Division Chief, Engr. Girme M. Bayucan. He welcomed everyone and congratulated them for a year of
hard work. He then shared the importance of conducting the 2021 DPW to better plan and assesses
the related programs and projects that need to be accomplished for 2021 and to ascertain that the
programs and services of the PSA are delivered with efficiency and on time.

After that, PSA RSSO II Regional Director Marilyn T. Estrada delivered her message to the division.
She also congratulated them for a well-planned and organized event. She reminded them to make
conclusive plans for the year 2021 as this can come handy when it comes to the actual operations.
“When you have a concrete plan, 20 percent of the work is already accomplished,” RD Estrada
shared. She also hoped that everything will not be a futile exercise with all the works of the division.
Lastly, she reminded them to enjoy work while they strive for excellence.

Subsequently, the group then proceeded in presenting their accomplished Forms 1 and 1a. The
Section heads presented their accomplished Form 1. During their presentation, Engr. Bayucan noticed
some inaccuracies and made suggestions. He suggested, omit words such as “Prepare/Accomplish” in
C DPW Proper 25 the first column and just write the major final output.

The suggestion was well taken and was also done by the succeeding sections who presented their
forms. The section heads continued in presenting their accomplished RPW Forms. The group
collectively reviewed the forms and the section heads made the necessary revisions if a suggestion
was raised. Engr. Bayucan also suggested that 2021 targets should be formed in present tense
sentences and the accomplishment column should be in past tense form.
After all the presentation has been presented the group resolved to continue the presentation of RPW
Form 2 in the following day and proceeded with the Christmas Celebration.

For the second day, it started with an ice breaker led by the Economic Sector Statistics (ESS) headed

by Ms. Juby C. Bacuyag, Senior Statistical Specialist, with the group forming one circle and writing a
2021 message for each other. Afterwards, the section chiefs presented the accomplished RPW Form
DAY 2 37 2.

Some of the highlight during the presentations is the chronological arrangement of events in the major
final output. For example in CPH First Level training should be incorporated in the first column, Second
Level Training in the Second Column until it reached the last part of the program. According to Engr.
Bayucan it should be formatted in such manner as to not create confusion. He also reminded them to
include the involved personnel in every activity and indicate the position of the person involved at the
remarks portion of the table.

During the presentation of the Knowledge Management Unit , Engr. Bayucan reminded them that the
submission of Annual Report is now on February compared to last year’s deadline of April. He also
noted that the section must religiously submit a monthly activity report of the interviews of RD with the
media aside from the usual submission of Partnership and Linkages in the RCNR.

For his closing remarks, Engr. Bayucan thanked each of his staff for their hard work in the year that
was. He encouraged them to continue their good work and pursue excellence but not compromise
their health and safety especially that the threat of COVID-19 virus is still apparent in 2021.
