 Problem Statement
An investigation into the leadership style of the manager at the Big Deal Tools &
Equipment Ltd on the success of the business.
 Objectives
 To identify the style of leadership used by the manager at Big Deal
Tools & Equipment Ltd.
 To determine the effectiveness of the leadership style identified.
 To assess the impact which the leadership style used, has on the
performance of the workers in the business
 Overview
The Big Deal Tools & Equipment Ltd is a sole trader business, owned and
manage by William Smith. The business is located at 186 Main Street,
Pineapple place, Ocho Rios. This business has been operation for the five
(5) years and counting. This business was started by the owner Mr. Smith
because of a dream he had while he was just a young boy. The business is
very unique it started out as just a little tool shop/hardware and it has
developed drastically to now be able to loan and sell construction
equipment, car part and since recently engine oil an through hard work and
dedication this business has shown the root to it’s success.
The researcher has chose this topic in order to obtain quality
information on the leadership style used in a business that has impacted on
the relationship between the manager an the employees on their
performance of the workers and to what extent does this affect the product
sales since the business started operations to meet the needs of the
customers.
 Methodology
In order to collect necessary data for this project, the researcher used both
primary and secondary sources of information. A questionnaire consisting
of ten (10) open and close questions was used to gather information from
10 individuals. This method was selected because it provides firsthand
information which is pertinent to the research. An interview using a total of
ten (10) open and close ended questions was done with the manager.
The researcher was also able to observe bodily or facial expressions
which served as sources of information. The researcher encounted
challenges as in order to obtain an interview with the manager, he had to
make several trips to the business establishment and this proved to be
costly and time consuming. The researcher also faced the challenge of
having to prepare other School Based Assignments for the 2021
examinations. A total of 10 questionnare were distributed and all were
collected.

and is presently preparing for CSECE Examinations in June of this year.
