With reference to the subject, it is submitted that the two meetings were called regarding the
subject matter. (MinuJes of meeting attached at Annex-A). In meeting, the Chair directed all participants to
inspect buildings along with Assistant Commissioners of District South-Karachi and submit detailed report in
the matter to this office.

In view of the above, the Assistant Commissioners and Deputy Superintendents of Police have
submitted their detailed report regarding the subject matter (Report is attached at Annex-b). The summary
thereof is:

The Chair welcomed all the participants and stated that the second meeting of the
District Taskforce was being held in pursuance of Commissioner Karachi Division Notification
No.CK/ACG/F.50-8/859/2020, dated 07-12-2020 in compliance of Hon'bele High Court of
Sindh, Karachi. The purpose of the meeting was to follow-up on the previous meeting's •
decisions regarding measures to prevent frequent fire incident and implementation of remedial
measures in preventing fire incidents. Mr. Fawad Ateeq Barry, CEO Haseen Habib Trading, also
brief the forum regarding fire safety.

It is submitted that the undersigned conducted a surprise visit to Arnma

Shopping Mall and Star City Mall along with her staff, representative of Fire Department
and representative of Civil Defence Department on 17-02-2021.

During the visit the equipments in respect of any emergency fire system I
extinguisher were found unsatisfactory and most of fire system was not up-dated. In any
mishap situation the causalities I fatalities or financial losses is extremely high. (Copy of
