Design Plate #1: A Correctional Facility for Women”
Date of Submission: MARCH 31, 2021

The Provincial Government of Bulacan has agreed in principle for the relocation of The Correctional
Facility for Women in Mandaluyong to be transferred to the Municipality of Calumpit. The Facility, to be
used exclusively for women shall be used by approximately 1000 inmates, all of which shall be placed
only under minimum security. The Burea of Jail Management and Penology would like a design for
medium security and one that would provide an atmosphere of relaxation and a sende of community for
the municipality. The focus of this design problem is for the student to develop a sculptural sense in the
form of a structure’s façade and the harmony between the natural colors of materials and the produced
product, which will be a modest building as well as a focus on Site Planning together with a sense of
place. The Project shall cover an area as provided for by the lot plan and shall be maximized to
accommodate future expansion. The entire list of space requirements is listed below.

Concept Sheet

▪ PROJECT CONCEPTUALIZATION PHASE (March 3, 2021)

 Preliminary pedestrian and vehicular circulation (i.e. floor plans, 1-line


drawings are a minimum requirement) concepts together with site analysis
data together with explanations of the circulation

▪ CRITERIA/SCHEMATIC DESIGN PHASE (March 12, 2020)

 Detailed presentation drawings (plans, elevations, sections) of your concept


including preliminary perspectives (exterior, interior) with explanations on the
corrections done

▪ DETAILED DESIGN PHASE (March 22, 2020)

 Semi-Final presentation drawings which shall include final plans and


elevations, preliminary concept with explanations, detailed illustrations,
models, etc.

▪ IMPLEMENTATION/PROJECT DELIVERY PHASE (March 31, 2020)

 Submitted Final presentation drawings which will include, at least, your


narratives, final models/illustrations, details, etc. together with your site
analysis and explanations on the corrections done

All previously submitted drawings from March 3 to March 22 shall be submitted as part

of the final output on March 31, 2020 showing progress of your work and with

corrections based on previous evaluations.
