On the twenty-seventh day of the month of

Adar the force of King Suleiman pursued ‫
after the force of the ‘king’ Known Adversary ‫ל ְ֣ח ֹדֶ ׁש אֲ דַ ר֒ ָר ְר ֗פּו ֚חֵ יל‬
and reached him and grabbed him and cut off ‫ֹלמ ֹה ַאחֲ ֵ ֥רי‬ ֔ ְ‫הַ ֶ ּ֣מלְֶך ׁש‬
his head. And the force of King Suleiman ‫הַ ּׂשָ ָ ֣טן‬ ‫חֵ יל־הַ ֶ ּ֖מלְֶך‬
brought the head of the Known Adversary, ‫הַ ּי ָ֑דּועַ וַּי ִ ַּׂ֤שיגּו אֹות ֹ֙ו‬
hanged on a spear. And they hanged him on ‫וַּיַחְ ּתְ כ֖ ּו‬ ‫ו ַ ִּי֣תְ ּפְ ׂ֔שּוהּו‬
the Havilah gate before all the people.
was at the time when the force of King ‫ֹלמ ֹה‬ ֑ ְ‫ׁש‬ ‫הַ ֶ ּ֖מלְֶך‬
Suleiman came to Egypt, and with him the
head of the Known Adversary, and the ‫ּתָ ֖לּוי עַ ל־הָ ֽר ֹמַ ח׃ וַּיִתְ ֖לּו‬
people of Egypt rejoiced a great rejoicing.
And when the Jews saw the rescue of YHWH ‫
and the miracles that were done for them in ‫ּבְעֵ֗ ת ָּ֨בא חֵ יל־הַ ֶ ּ֤מלְֶך‬
the days of Haman the Agagite, who sought ‫ׁשְ ֹלמ ֹה֙ לְמִ צ ַ ְ֔רי ִם ו ְעִ ּמָ֕ ם‬
to kill and annihilate all he Jews, from young
to old, children and women, and plunder as ‫וַּיִׂשְ מְ ֛חּו ַאנ ֵ ְׁ֥שי מִ צ ַ ְ֖רי ִם‬
spoil — and just as the Amalekite planned so ‫ְדֹולֽה׃ וְכ ְִר ֨אֹות‬ ָ ‫ׂשִ ּמְ ָ ֥חה ג‬
too did the Known Adversary to do, but God ‫ְׁשּועת‬֣ ַ ‫ְהּודים אֶ ת־י‬ ִ ֜ ‫הַ ּי‬
overturned their plots and made light of their ‫ם אֲ ֶ ׁ֣שר‬ ֮ ‫יהו֗ ה ו ְאֶ ת־הַ ּנִּסִ י‬
schemes and turned their labors on their ‫ִימי הָ ָ ֣מן‬ ֣ ֵ ‫נַעֲ ׂ֣שּו לָהֶ ֒ם ּב‬
head. Thus the Jews established and agreed to ‫הָ אֲ ָג ִ֡גי ו ַאֲ ֶ ׁ֣שר ּב ֵ ִּ֣קׁש‬
fast on the twenty-seventh day of the month ‫ּולְאַ ֵּ ֣בד‬ ‫לַהֲ ֣ר ֹג‬
of Adar and to make the twenty-eighth day a ‫ל־הַ יְּהּודִ֠ ים מִ ּנ ַ ַ֤ער‬ ֠ ‫אֶ ת־כׇּ‬
joyous feast, with giving gifts from one to his ‫ו ְעַ ד־זָקֵ ֙ן ַ ֣טף וְנָׁשִ֔ ים‬
friend and gifts to the poor. For thus YHWH ‫׀‬ ‫וְכַאֲ ֶ ׁ֣שר‬ ‫ּוׁשְ ל ָ ָ֖לם ל ָ֑בֹוז‬
did for them miracles and wonders and saved ‫י ַ ָ֣עץ הָ עֲ מָ לֵקִ֗ י ֵ ּ֥כן י ָעַ֨ ץ‬
them from the hand o their enemies and ‫ָדּוע לַעֲ ׂ֔שֹות‬ ַ֙ ‫הַ ּׂשָ ָ ֤טן הַ ּי‬

Thus may all your enemies perish, YHWH,
