Rules Prevention
1. Respect
To prevent this behavior I will respect
all my students, school property, and
my fellow peers. I will remind my
students to not talk bad about others,
to use school property the way it is
meant to be used, and to always
think before they speak.
Support
To support this behavior I will
continue to thank my students
who are being respectful, as well
as remind my students to always
show respect.
Intervention/
Consequences
1st time, I would give verbal warning “please
respect others in my classroom or you will be
asked to leave”
2nd time it happens on the same day: I will
ask students to speak to them outside of my
classroom and try to understand why they are
being disrespectful.
3rd offense: If the student does not want to
comply, I will call security to take this student
out of my class.
2. Use polite
To prevent this behavior I will model
my own rule by not saying any put
downs, to my students, I won’t
and swear, or use slang words with
demeaning connotations. When I
appropriate start my classroom agenda I will
remind my students of simple
phrases before our day begins such
language as “And remember, if you don't have
something nice to say, don’t say it at
all”
3. Cell
To prevent this behavior I will have a
cellphone station next to the door
where students will come in and
phones place their phones in. This cell phone
station will be a sheet of sleeves that
immediately
are numbered. Each student is
assigned a number in which they
would put their cell phone in that

themselves about to say an
inappropriate word.

and stopping ahead of time”
To support behavior I will thank
students immediately as they
walk into my class and put their
phones into their pouches. This
lets me show recognition for
following my rules.
Consequence:
1st time, I would give verbal warning “please
don't use that language associated with that
tone of voice, try to say that again in a positive
way”
2nd time it happens in the same day:
depending on the language used and how
offensive it was I will give another verbal
warning stating this is your second chance to
fix your words and choices you are making.
3rd time : I will write them up for a lunch
detention because they were disobeying my
classroom rule.
Refusal to turn over the cell phone will be
treated as insubordinate behavior. I will first
do attendance and look at my cell phone
pouches to make sure each student that is
present has their phone up. If they do not, I
will remind them to please put it up for the
time being.
If they refuse to do so I will ask to speak with
them privately as to why they don't want to
give me the phone.
Lastly if they seem to be defiant i will call
security to take their phone.

Rationale for Rule
One should always be respectful. Especially in a school setting.
Teachers should respect their peers and students, and students should
respect their teachers, peers, and school property. I don't want to see
my students putting down others, or disrespecting myself.
I want my classroom to be a safe space students don't feel judged,
bullied, or upset in. By eliminating the use of inappropriate language,
and demeaning connotations, students will want to come to my class
because they know they won't have anyone put them down.
Working in a highschool myself these students can't seem to get off
their phones. It doesn't matter if the teacher is lecturing, or if the
students have an activity they are working on. I think if I could get 30
minutes of the student’s time without the distraction of their phone, or
being tempted to have their phone out then I can successfully teach my
lesson.
