1. Answer ALL FOUR (4) questions. All questions carry equal marks.
2. All working steps for numerical answers must be shown.
3. Write your answers on A4 size paper, either in Black or Blue colour pen – any
unreadable answer / information will be voided.
4. Write your name and SEGi Student ID on every page (top right corner) of your
answer sheets, and number all your answer sheets (bottom right corner) in
chronological order.
5. Scan all your answer sheets into a single PDF / Word file (together with the
Student’s Answer Script Cover Page provided), and name it under your programme,
the Module Code and followed by your SEGi Student ID, eg:

6. Upload your single PDF / Word file to the Blackboard submission page before
5.00pm on 13th May 2020 (Malaysia time).

d) The radius of a right cylinder is increasing at a rate of 8mm/s and the height is
decreasing at a rate of 15 mm/s. Find the rate at which the volume is changing in
cm3/s when the radius is 40mm and the height is 150mm. [Hint: Volume of cylinder

a) Expand the Fourier series of the periodic function defined as

i) Sketch a graph 𝑓(𝑥) in the interval −𝜋 < 𝑥 < 𝜋. [3 marks]
ii) Find the Fourier series representation of 𝑓(𝑥) [17 marks]

b) Use Maclaurin’s series to find a series for 𝑐𝑜𝑠ℎ 𝑥 up to and including 𝑥 9 .
