SEMI- DETAILED LESSON PLAN

IN ENGLISH 9
NOVEMBER 28, 2019

I. Objectives
At the end of the discussion the students should be able to:

a. identify the types of verbal and its function and


b. give value on the use of verbals in the sentence
c. write sentences using verbals

II. Subject Matter


Topic: Verbal’s
References: Essential English in Grade 9
Materials: Laptop, PPT, TV

III. Procedure
A. Preliminary Activities
Prayer
Greetings
Checking of attendance

B. Activity
The teacher will break the group, then each group must have a
representative to act in front and to describe the given words. The remaining members
of the group will also participate in guessing the given word. The group who immediately
answer the given words will be declared as a winner.
C. Analysis
The teacher will ask the following questions:
1.How did you find the activity?
2.What did you observed?
3.What was the topic for today?

D. Abstraction
The teacher will discuss the verbal and its types:
 Gerunds- The gerund ends in -ing and functions as a noun.
 Infinitives-The infinitive is the base form of a verb with to and a verb
acting as a noun or adjectives.
 Participle- A participle is a verb that ends in -ing (present participle)
or -ed, -d, -t, -en, -n (past participle). Participles may function as
adjectives, describing or modifying nouns.

E. Application
The teacher will group the students into three groups (3). The group will make a
sentence using the type of verbal assigned to them and select a representative to
present their work.

IV. Evaluation
In a ¼ sheet of paper the students will answer the following questions:
