Our genuine reasons to collaborate with FAO in order to help the suffering people
The real problem of the people in our mission
Our country is struggling for peace. People of South Sudan continue to live in fear. The civil war which has no moral justification whatsoever continues. Besides that this country is gripped by famine, insecurity created by hunger and economic hardship. Our people are struggling simply to survive. Millions are affected, with large numbers displaced from their homes and many fleeing to neighboring countries. People in some locations or from certain ethnic groups are targeted by armed forces. Thousands of people are killed, raped, tortured, beaten, looted, harassed, detained, displaced, and prevented from harvesting their crops. Many of our people in our missions are farmers and having the land and they have abandoned their land due to the reason either of their crops are louted or they are not able to buy the crops for the cultivation. They also lack tools for the cultivation. Many of the children are struggling to survive due to malnutrition. Mothers are not able to give milk to their new born babies because of the lack of energy and immunity. Most of them do eat one meal a day so men are not able to work hard and they soon get exhausted whenever they work. We also have fisher men but many of them struggle without fishing nets and other fishing tools.
Number of people in our Missions facing this problem
Farmers need tools for cultivation and crops and the vegetable seeds. Thereby they can utilize their land instead of leaving them barren. They will learn to work hard instead of sitting idle in their home. They can also harvest their crops and store for their family and also they can even do the trade in the market. Malnourished children and unfed mothers need food, vegetables and greens desperately. If their families are given with the vegetable seeds we shall train them how to cultivate vegetables and they can nourish their children very well. Additionally they also need crops such as sorghum, groundnut, peanut, red beans and so on. Fisher men need fishing tools and the necessary instruments in the rivers flowing nearby our missions.
