Lesson 1. Welcome!

In this lesson the importance of tones in Mandarin Chinese is

introduced. There are four tones in Chinese and I give the
example of “mother” and “horse” as an example to show that it is
important to say every word with the right tone. Let’s get ready
to ride the “roller coaster” and practice the tones!
